Reminder Regarding Introduction of New Business items at Convention
Delegates wishing to bring new business to the convention may introduce such business at the Tuesday business sessions.
Delegates wishing to bring motions or resolutions regarding new business to the convention floor for consideration should remember that these motions must be submitted in advance. Article XIII, Section 1, E of the IAAP Bylaws states: “If any resolution (other than courtesy resolutions) not submitted to the Bylaws and Standing Rules Committee prior to Convention is to be brought before the Convention body, it must be in writing and distributed to the Bylaws and Standing Rules Committee, the Delegates, International Officers and Parliamentarian at least twenty-four hours prior to introduction.”
All new business items submitted by delegates will be considered during the Tuesday business session. This means that a delegate must put the motion in writing and deliver it to the IAAP Convention Headquarters Office located in the Trafalgar Room no later than 8 a.m. on Monday so the motion can be printed and distributed to delegates 24 hours before the Tuesday business session as required in the IAAP Bylaws.
