IAAP Research & Educational Foundation

Committed to support the professional growth of
admins with IAAP's 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Foundation

The International Association of Administrative Professionals Research and Educational (R&E) Foundation was established by Declaration of Trust in 1966. The Research and Educational Foundation was created both to advance knowledge of the administrative profession and to provide educational services to admins. The Research and Educational Foundation is committed to creating educational opportunities and providing research support to further the career development of administrative professionals. Monetary donations by individuals, chapters and corporate sponsors provide the critical funding necessary to advance the mission of the R&E Foundation. Contributions made to the Foundation are tax deductible by donors as provided by Section 170 of the Internal Revenue Code. Bequests, legacies, transfers, or other gifts for the Foundation’s use are deductible for federal estate and gift-tax purposes under the provisions of Sections 2055, 2106 and 2522 of the Code. Since its inception, the R&E Foundation has raised nearly a quarter of a million dollars to further its purpose and goals.
To provide excellent service, administrative professionals must be aware of changing business trends, new skill requirements, and expanded roles and responsibilities being offered and assigned. The Research and Educational Foundation assists administrative professionals in getting and staying up to date to meet new demands in the workplace. Monetary donations to the Foundation will be used for the following programs:
  • To subsidize costs related to Continuing Education Units (CEU) for targeted IAAP education programs
  • On-going evaluation and college credit recommendations for IAAP’s professional certification programs
  • To provide content validity studies for IAAP’s professional certification programs
  • Support for specialized IAAP seminars and educational programs
  • Support for collaborative online training and educational programs
  • Coordination and funding for special benchmarking studies and other targeted research projects
  • Funding of other studies and new initiatives relevant to the fulfillment of the R&E Foundation’s mission
Be a Foundation Sponsor By partnering with the foundation as a sponsor, your company can build brand awareness and also help advance the profession in meaningful ways. IAAP is seeking sponsors to provide the funding necessary to develop the Research and Educational Foundation to its full potential.
Constituent Research  IAAP encourages companies to submit funding proposals that align with the IAAP organizational mission and provide information on relevant topics to benefit all administrative professionals. IAAP regularly coordinates surveys and distributes data on wide-ranging aspects of administrative careers. Examples of previous research funded by sponsors have included best practices in office administration, compensation trends, business/office ethics, administrative skills in demand, and workplace responsibilities to name a few.
Market Research IAAP has limited opportunities to conduct brand market research on your company’s products or services through the Research and Educational Foundation.
Educational Opportunities The administrative professional of today and tomorrow will require specialized knowledge, skills, and training to adapt and provide leadership in an ever-changing workplace. As a result, the need for training that reaches administrative professionals will continue to expand to keep pace with the increased demands and expectations from employers, business clients and customers. Proposals and sponsorship funding for targeted educational and training conferences at the International level will be considered based upon the topic and potential benefit to meet the emerging needs of administrative professionals.
Collaborative Projects IAAP will consider collaborative partnerships with your company for projects designed to enhance work-related skills and careers of administrative professionals. Proposals for collaborative projects between your company and IAAP must meet the following criteria:
  • The project is relevant to the profession and IAAP’s mission.
  • The project positions the collaborative partners in a positive manner to both groups of constituents.
  • There is a documented benefit to IAAP members.
  • The goals and desired outcomes of the project are documented in advance.
  • There will be an opportunity to publicize the results.
  • There is sufficient funding to cover both the direct and indirect costs to IAAP.

All donations will be used to advance the administrative profession and support the mission and purpose of the Research and Educational Foundation. Donations should be forwarded to Sue Tuff, Controller.
