Melissa has worked at IAAP headquarters since January of 2006 and serves as the accounting manager. Members should contact Melissa if they have questions about tax forms, IRS compliance, budgeting or financial reporting. She previously worked for Children International, a non-profit headquartered in Kansas City. In her spare time, Melissa enjoys sports and roots for the Kansas City Royals, Chiefs and the University of Missouri. Her favorite book is Pride and Prejudice, which she has read more than 20 times.

Emily has worked at IAAP headquarters since March of 2008. As managing editor of OfficePro magazine, she writes, plans the editorial calendar, works with writers and is responsible for the business end of the magazine. Her department also is responsible for the member newsletter, Connections, Administrative Professionals Day, written materials such as brochures, logos, public relations and IAAP's social networking. Emily studied journalism and English at the University of Nebraska. She moved to Kansas City in 2005 to take a job as a community newspaper editor. In her spare time, Emily enjoys science fiction, both books and movies, and writing.

Susan Fenner, Ph.D. has been with IAAP since 1984. Her background includes a doctorate degree in Curriculum and Instruction, with work experience at Benedictine College in Atchison KS in the department of Education and Heartland Healthcare in St. Joseph MO where she was a Training Specialist. While at IAAP, she has developed business curricula for secondary and post-secondary schools, participated in research on career paths and evolving roles for admins, edited the Complete Office Handbook through three editions, was the Admin Support Advisor on Monster, written advice columns in Office Solutions and OfficePro magazines, and created the two Options Training Programs. In her position as Manager of Education and Events, she develops programs for IAAP conferences and contracts with presenters, selects educational products for the online bookstore and on-site sales, and tracks workplace/workforce trends for admin to produce learning opportunities.

Her mother was a single-parent office manager who worked at a time when women were scarce in the workplace. Her dedication to the admin role and ability to balance home and work was an inspiration. Susan says that working at IAAP is both an honor and a privilege and that her mission in life is to "help others achieve their potential."

Holly started at IAAP headquarters in March of 2009 and works in the accounting department. Members can contact Holly if they have questions about: 1099's, 990's, IAAP Web Community invoices and payments, position bond insurance, third-party liability insurance, W-9 requests and questions, setting up direct deposit, RTF contributions and reports, RTF patio pavers and R&E contributions and reports. Holly is from Kansas City, Mo., and graduated from Park University with a bachelors in management. In her spare time, she volunteers for Animals Best Friends, a local no-kill animal shelter.

Lisa joined the certification department in October of 2011. In her role as Certification Customer Service Coordinator, she answers questions about certification and recertification, processes applications for exams and processes recertification packages. Lisa is originally from Ohio and graduated from Christopher Newport University. She is also an avid sports fan and supports the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Lynn has worked in the IAAP headquarters distribution department since October of 2002. If you have questions about order processing, shipping, change of address or need information on brochures or any products IAAP sells, Lynn is the person to contact. In her spare time, Lynn enjoys gardening, fishing and riding her Harley-Davidson.

Claudia has worked at IAAP headquarters since October of 1977. Currently working in the membership department, Claudia handles OfficePro magazine subscriptions and circulation questions, registration for Spring Conference, as well as answering general membership questions. She was born in Owatonna, Mn., and has also lived in Hannibal, Mo., and Columbia, Mo. One of Claudia's favorite movies is "Eat, Pray, Love," and she also enjoys watching and playing tennis and being around her family.

Patrick has worked at IAAP headquarters since October of 2003. Within the membership department, he is primarily responsible for processing payments for membership renewals and member transfers. In his spare time, Patrick competes in bodybuilding and recently placed in the top four in a national competition. He also enjoys spending time with his daughter and recently started his own online company for dieting and training advice.

Ray joined IAAP headquarters in June of 2011 after previously working for about 10 years in community journalism. He serves as assistant editor of OfficePro magazine, edits the Connections monthly newsletter and composes general association communications. Ray was born in northern California but has called the Midwest home since 1985. He holds degrees in journalism and history from the University of Iowa. In his spare time, Ray enjoys spending time with his son and playing guitar.

Currently living in Gladstone, Mo., with his wife and two children, Ben began working at IAAP in September 2009 after previously working as an online content strategist for a large business-to-business publishing company. As Internet Communications Coordinator for IAAP, Ben manages the IAAP Web Community, the IAAP headquarters site and assists chapter and division webmasters with their IAAP websites. Ben is a graduate of the University of Missouri and received his Bachelor of Journalism in 2001.
