IAAP CAP Certification Exam and OM Specialty Exam – Move to Computer-based Testing
One of the initiatives of our Strategic Plan 2013-2018 is to move our IAAP CAP certification exam and OM specialty exam from paper and pencil testing to computer-based testing. We are excited to announce the final plans to meet that initiative!
Starting in March 2015, the IAAP CAP certification and OM specialty exams will become available through computer-based testing. Candidates will apply for the exam through IAAP and then schedule a testing time through Pearson Vue. Pearson Vue is a company with secure testing centers and a consistent delivery system with testing locations throughout North America and select international locations.
The move to computer-based testing will allow for additional testing dates. Depending on each testing centers’ availability, the spring exams will be offered March 2-7, 2015. The deadline to apply is December 1, 2014, with late applications accepted through December 8, 2014. Approved candidates can choose a Pearson Vue testing location and schedule a testing date and time beginning January 5, 2015.
The fall exams will be offered August 31-September 5, 2015. The deadline to apply is June 1, 2015, with late applications accepted through June 8, 2015. Late applicants will be required to pay an additional $50 late fee. No applications will be accepted beyond the late deadline dates.
The 2015 exams will be based on the current outline and bibliography. Those are available in the IAAP Exam Guides. As you know, we are working on the development of our own Review Guide, which will be available for the 2016 exams.
The move to computer-based testing is an exciting change for our certification program, and we are very pleased to make this change now during IAAPs revitalization year.
