Virginia-West Virginia Division Merger
Effective July 1, 2008, the Virginia Division and West
Virginia Division merged to form the Virginia-West
Virginia Division. The proposal to merge was passed via
a vote at the West Virginia Division Meeting in May 2008
and at the Virginia Division Meeting in June 2008. The
merged division’s official name is the Virginia-West
Virginia Division and the division number will be
446000. There will be no changes to chapter numbers nor
to member ID numbers; however, all active members within
these two divisions will receive new membership cards
reflecting the merger.
Congratulations and best
wishes are extended to everyone involved in this merger.

Staff
Spotlight
Meet Susan Whitaker
Susan Whitaker
supervises the Distribution Department. She’s been
working at Headquarters for 29 years. She came to work
for IAAP – then NSA – in April of 1979.
It’s
rare to see Susan sitting down, especially this time of
year as she gets ready for International Convention and
Education Forum. She supervises the daily activities and
project scheduling for the Distribution Department. In
addition she handles orders, phone and e-mail customer
service. Susan schedules and ships the Cooperative
Marketing material, prepares material and arranges
transportation for Convention freight and handles
on-site distribution as well as dealing with freight for
the other meetings.
Susan
was married for 32 years. She has four children, three
step-children, 10 grandchildren plus three by marriage,
and great-grandchildren. Her mother is still reasonably
active at 98.
“I have
been organist at Rock of Ages Evangelical Lutheran
Church (a WELS church) for more than 25 years,” said
Susan. “I spend much of my free time with my grandkids.”
She
also enjoys listening to well-performed classical and
country music.
You can contact
phone Susan at 816-891-6600 x2246 or e-mail at

Leadership Tips
Learn how to give difficult feedback
All of us are busy. We
are victims of information overload, yet don’t have
crucial face-to-face conversations that keep us
connected in more meaningful ways.
Less personal
communication can cause diffused focus and little
in-depth dialogue, dehumanizing our work and home
environments. Most of us need frequent feedback and
discussion with others to benefit from different
perspectives, to work more effectively, and to reach our
fullest productivity.
What is the best way to
give feedback, especially the difficult kind?
Dr. Marilyn Manning, CSP,
CMC, and international author of seven business books,
gives some practical ideas on how to hold that difficult
conversation in her article,
Learn How to Give Difficult Feedback.
