Vicki's husband’s name is Chester, "but I call him Cy. We have been married for 34 years," she said. "We have one daughter, Megan, 23, who lives here in Kansas City. I have two sons by a previous marriage (yes, I am ancient). Joe, 39, is in the Army and lives in Newport News, Va; and Josh, 35, resides in Houston."
She also has a step-daughter, Teri, 42, who lives Las Vegas. Between all of them Vicki has eight grandchildren, four boys and four girls. "Only two of them live here in Kansas City. I couldn’t keep up with more than that," said Vicki.
She lives in what she claims is a zoo, with two dogs, Morgan and Jack, one very active cat, Pete. They also have a Quaker Parrott, Chico. They got the parrot when he was a baby. "Now he is 9. We are told he can live to be 35, we don’t know who gets him in the will yet," she said. "I have taught him everything from singing the scale, to kissing good night. He is quite the entertainer and 'rules the roost.'"
Due to age and health constraints, Vicki said her personal hobbies are now just memories. She used to love to go bowling, but her arms and back will no longer permit that. "Sewing is out, I can’t see well enough. Dancing, forget that – legs are not worthy," she said. "Therefore, I guess I fall under the 'couch potato' category. This does not require much energy for my arthritic finger to change the channels."
Vicki said she likes to poke fun at herself. "It’s just my nature," she said. She enjoys working at International Headquarters and with the members she helps everyday. "Some day I will retire and pass my knowledge on to some lucky person, but NOT yet. I ain’t that old," she said.
