Student chapter gives back by helping recovering addicts

The Parker High School Student Chapter-IAAP collaborated with the Alethia House, a facility for recovering addicts, to provide a resume’ writing workshop, in an effort to help residents become gainfully employed upon completion of the program.

A clothing drive also occurred at that time for the participants to receive business attire to “dress for success.”

There were approximately 25 participants of the Alethia House. In phase one of the workshop  participants were interviewed by a member of the Parker High School student chapter.

Upon collecting the data, the participant moved to the second phase of the workshop where Parker High School chapter members, armed with individual laptops, typed and printed the resumes. The final phase of the workshop consisted of assistance from the Alabama Power Chapter-IAAP student chapter committee members who then critiqued the resumes and made recommendations for changes.
