OfficePro welcomes your article ideas. If you have an article or article idea that is aimed at helping administrative professionals do their jobs more effectively/efficiently and/or advance their career, e-mail an outline or synopsis to aensminger@iaap-hq.org

All articles must be non-promotional in nature and take a how-to, practical approach, outlining specific tips and strategies. Write in a personal, direct tone in active voice. Include practical examples where possible. Do not use “I” or “we.”

Subjects of particular interest include communication and writing skills; career development and advancement; stress management; business ethics and etiquette; organization and time management; management and supervision techniques; and computer and software tips. Typical article length is 1200-2500 words.

Once an article idea is accepted for publication, the completed article must be submitted in electronic format (Word or WordPerfect) submitted via e-mail or on disk. Authors must include their address, phone/fax, title, company, brief biography, and contact information.

Aside from certain book and magazine excerpts, OfficePro accepts only previously unpublished manuscripts. We reject articles that are disguised product releases. Authors may identify specific products or services but must mention them sparingly within an article of broader content.

We are unable to pay authors, except for reporting pieces assigned to professional freelancers. We consider articles contributions to the advancement of the administrative profession. Authors receive full bylined credit. All published material is copyrighted by IAAP under the provision of "work made for hire." We do not provide authors with galleys or any other edited form of their manuscripts. We reserve the right to alter any accepted manuscript for clarity and adherence to OfficePro editorial style.
