The IAAP Certification Administrative Board is a vital part of IAAP certification. These individuals oversee all policies and procedures for IAAP’s certification program.

 

Commitment

  • Serve a three-year term

  • Attend and actively contribute to all committee meetings

  • Complete assigned reviews within established timelines

  • Advocate for the IAAP certification program

Certification Administrative Board Expectations and Responsibilities:

Attend CAB meetings and serve on committees and/or in roles as requested by the chair and IAAP staff.
Monitor, revise (as needed) and approve the Certification Policies and Procedures Manual and related controlled documents.
Approve the scope of and scheme for certifications and specialty areas.
Approve the eligibility criteria, certification scope, examinations, examination scaled cut-points, exam and item performance standards, and other essential certification decisions based upon its own determination or upon recommendations from subject-matter experts.
Approve updates and revisions of the Recertification Guidelines.
Oversee staff appointment process of Certification Subject-Matter Expert Panel.
Review and resolve any certification appeals that have been submitted.
Assure the independence of the certification from other conflicting interests such as, but not limited to, training, education accreditation, and marketing functions.
Assure impartiality while reviewing and ruling on an appeal, or otherwise recuse themselves if there is an actual or apparent conflict of interest.
Prepare periodic Certification Reports for the IAAP Board of Directors.

Sign both a Nondisclosure and a Conflict of Interest Agreement.
