This session presents tools and tips in effectively communicating for the administrative professional. We will examine communication types and working with various communication styles. This hour long program will teach, among others, the following items:

  • Effectively using your smile and facial expressions including eye contact
  • Proper body language and movement
  • Verbal and nonverbal communication tools – Active listening and questioning techniques
  • Phone etiquette – Proper voice messages and announcements
  • Answering and responding to phone calls
  • Managing difficult people and inappropriate communications, such as phone calls, emails
  • When to hesitate before you communicate
About The Speaker: 
Greg Creech is a proud member of the Atlanta IAAP chapter. He began his corporate career at Southern Bell on January 5, 1981 as a Steno clerk and two months after being hired he served as a pianist and humorist for Southern Bell and the Telephone Pioneers performing in shows to raise money for Ronald McDonald Houses. Some of his positions included Admin Clerk, Administrative Manager, Operations Manager, Sales Support, and Compensation Manager. After leaving AT&T gracefully, he certified as a Microsoft Office Master Educator and has a 10 book Microsoft Office series entitled The Better Business Management series for Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook. He is an award winning actor and comedian. In 2007, he received the top honor from the University Continuing Education Association of having the top non-credit programs for ALL continuing education universities and colleges in the south for his Microsoft Office Suite of courses. In 2009, the Association of Continuing Higher Education honored Greg with the Faculty Award for his work at Emory University.
