I have over 15 years in Executive Administration and in the past year I have seen some job postings that have had noted CAP Certification preferred. I love the company I am with now and believe I will be one of two in the company to have this certification once I pass. I consider myself nearly an expert in Microsoft Applications which include working with BI tools for queries and reporting presentation and in today's market to perform, and perform well in an executive office you need ample experience with all these types of programs. Although, I have provided support to CEO's, CFO's, COO's and all other departments that flow into these obtaining a CAP certification is the one thing I desire to do. I am proving to myself that after 40 if I study, apply myself, and focus beyond the office and everyone else I will have this for me.

My journey thus far has awarded me with so much knowledge and now I pray that I have the mindset to finish utilizing everything I have learned and months of studying so I can have the success story of gaining my CAP Certification in 2017.

Thank you for sharing your story. Your message resonates with me. I'm in my 40's and have 20 years experience as an admin and legal secretary. I will "join you" in sitting for the March 2017 exam. You've got a great attitude and that will take you far! No one can take from us our experience and what we've learned thus far in our studies so we are winners no matter what :) I wish you success!

HI Paula!!!

I think many of us start this certification journey because we want to validate our skills.

I'm glad you have already been finding the journey informative already. I truly believe we should expand our skills and knowledge as part of the process of becoming certification. A certification should never just be a piece of paper. It should mean something and the CAP does.

You got this!
