I work for a non-profit that is state and federally funded. While I'm *technically* not considered government, my company is mandated by the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act, much like the DOL and DOE. We are part of Florida's Department of Economic Opportunity and under CareerSource Florida. We are responsible for many things such as the employment and training for SNAP and TANF recipients (food stamps and cash assistance/welfare), Unemployment and RESEA (Reemployment Services and Eligibility Assessments). We also have funds used for training investments for local businesses and jobseekers. Across the nation, we're known as Workforce Development Boards or "One-Stop Centers".

I'm always happy to connect with government/non-profit EAs. Our work is very different compared to private sector. It's good to have others who understand the unique struggles (and often countless extra steps!) we face.

I am the EA to the Mayor of our city. I'm always looking to connect with other government EAs as there is always something to learn from one another. Feel free to send a connection.
Pearl

I am an admin in a publicly funded state university. It has been a tough year on the budget. Our new governor made $8 million in cuts to funding at our university alone. Cuts were made to publicly funded higher ed across the board in our state, but the good news is that at least the funding to K-12 schools is still intact. I was formerly an EA at a non-profit for 14 years until a new CEO came in and made across the board cuts.

I am in the same place as Kristina. I work for a university and we received major cuts this year. We lost our account tech position so I am learning along the way a new job. the only good thing is I have a supportive chair and faculty that have been wonderful to the office staff. So far our benefits haven't changed and I don't think they will because our legislatures have the same plan.

Greetings to everyone. I'm currently an admin specialist at a state two-year college. In July I'll be transitioning to an admin assistant working with ReadySC, a division of the SC Technical College System. I welcome connections from professionals in the field since there is always something to learn! :)
