I am excited and nervous, but looking forward to gaining more knowledge and becoming a better administrative assistant while preparing for the CAP exam this spring. Staying focused and positive throughout the process is my plan. Any helpful tips would be wonderful.

Thank you!

One of the biggest things I heard and experienced is keeping up with the studies. You may be tired and feel like not studying one night, and that's okay. Just make sure you don't have too many of those. There's a lot of material to cover. It isn't hard, but you need the time to absorb it.

Congrats on the journey! My advice: Stay positive, surround yourself with great accountability partners, and take a break from study at times. Dont let this process overwhelm you. This is meant to be a positive, motivational experience!

Best of luck. I found that using a variety of study methods helped. My study partner and I put some questions and answers into a "Who Wants to be a Millionaire" template. I was able to recall info from that game quite vividly. https://www.lifewire.com/free-powerpoint-games-for-teachers-1358169

Jeri - Good luck in the pursuit of your certification designation. Helpful Tips: Be sure to have a schedule for studying and stick to it.
As Anne mentioned, take a break. When I was preparing for the OM, I took Sundays off. Read articles in newspapers, magazines regarding business trends. Take advantage of the resources your local library has to offer. If possible, join an on-line study group.

Linda L. Rolfe, CAP (Ret.), OM
