Hello CAP Superheroes!

I have been trying to prepare to take the exam next year in April and I am seriously discouraged. I am frazzled beyond belief. I have the CAP Study Guide, Business Communication Today, Discovering Computers, Human Resource Management, The Administrative Professional and Fundamentals of Organizational Communication; not to mention tons of downloaded information pertaining to Accounting, Grammar, Management Theories, Elements of Design and so much more. The practice test made me realize that I needed to study everything but its a lot. The books are huge and I'm all over the place. Should I read one book at a time? Do I really need to read the entire book? Trying to figure out how to retain all of this information is keeping me up at night. Any suggestions on making sense of it all are welcomed because right now I'm not on a solid study path in terms of what to hone in on.

Honestly, go with Marie's study group. You literally cannot, in any way, go wrong by doing this. I only used the CAP study guide and the resources she gave us during the group. You really owe it yourself and your sanity to just join her group. Here's the link... https://mrhenterprises.com/CAPStudyGroup.shtml

Relax, you have more than enough time. You've got this!

Hi Xavier, thanks for letting Lisa know about my group!

Lisa, self studying is definitely a challenge, but it can be done. You should start by mapping out a list of all the books you have to read, dividing out all the chapter across the weeks remaining between now and the test. that will give you an idea of how many chapters you will need to read every week.

Also, be sure to review the Body of Knowledge bullet by bullet to prepare. It should be guiding your efforts in terms of identifying what you need to cover as a whole.

If you would like to learn more about my CAP study group (which will start January 7 and only requires the CAP Exam Study Guide since I do provide any other material needed), you can drop me an email at iaap@mrhenterprises.com to ask your questions.

Marie

The money you spend for Marie's group will make you wish you hadn't bought all those books!

I have the books too and what I got out of Marie's class is so much more than you can find in a book.

Relax - breathe and you got this.

Hi Lisa,

My recommendations are Marie's study group, the CAP Study Guide, and Procedures & Theory for Administrative Professionals. I used an older version to save money, but it covered the same principles.

Loved your photo. I had sticky notes all over the bathroom mirror and kitchen cabinets. It was an intense time, but very rewarding. Stay on Marie's reading/study schedule and you'll do great!

Best wishes to you,
Norma

Marie's classes are great. I would not have passed the OM test without her group. She breaks everything down and cuts straight to the core of what you need to know. I almost didn't take the OM test because I thought I wasn't ready but my daughter gave me the advice I'm giving you: "You studied and now you have to trust yourself and your experience". And, I passed even though I had not passed any of the practice tests. Good Luck. You will be fine.

If you are wondering why I referred to the OM Certification rather than the CAP, it's because I took the CAP Exam 100 years ago and the process was much different.
