Fall 2024 CAP Preperation

I just learned about the CAP and decided I wanted to challenge myself to prepare and take this, I recently joined a study group to prepare myself for the exam in October. I want to improve at my job and continue growing and learning. I spent many years in retail in management, and when that journey ended I decided to move into office work (I always got great comments about my organizational skills and other office-type work in my reviews).

I started my journey as a Receptionist at a mental health hospital for kids, while there I ended up working my way up to Hospital Administrative Manager, a position I enjoyed. When they chose to do away with the position I decided it was time to do something different, one of my duties as the Hospital Administrative Manager position was to act as the liaison between the hospital and the local school district that sends teachers in to work with the patients while they are in treatment.

When the principal and lead teacher found out I was going to be looking for another job when my time was up they asked me to apply for one of the office positions available with them so by the time my last day came around I already had a new job as an Administrative Assistant with 11 schools in different mental health facilities. I have been doing this for just over 2 years now and I have really enjoyed it and am looking forward to being able to do my job even better with the knowledge I will gain while preparing for this exam.

I am nervous but excited to prove to myself that I can learn this and improve my skills. Passing the exam will be the frosting on the top :)
