New for IAAP members: whether you are seeking CAP certification, looking for additional cost effective online recertification options, or just want to enhance your professional knowledge, there is a new portal now available and it is an excellent resource. used the IAAP CAP Body of Knowledge aligning the performance outcomes to free or low cost educational resources available online.


This portal has been created through a partnership with Lord Fairfax Community College (LFCC), American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) Foundation, the International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP), Microsoft, Concentric Sky, Inc., Amazon Education, and other organizations. Through the portal, individuals can work towards nationally-recognized, occupational credentials. Currently, the portal focuses on career pathways in Health Information Management, Administrative Systems Technology, Networking, Cybersecurity, and Information Systems Technology.

Applicants must have a grade 12 diploma or be a mature student (aged 19 at the start of the course). A copy of the student’s high school diploma is required if they are under the age of 19. A copy of a Government issued photo identification such as a driver’s license, passport or other, which shows the students date of birth, must also be supplied. Students must complete our typing test confirming that they meet our minimum typing speed of 30 nwpm (net words per minute). Students must also complete and pass the English & Grammar test with at least 85%. All distance learning students are required to complete a Distance Learning Assessment and have a PC with Internet access (high speed is recommended).
