Natalie Carter, CAP

Natalie Carter, CAP is a strategic administrative leader with over a decade of experience supporting executive teams and Boards in advancing organizational goals. As Office and Administrative Manager at Lundberg Family Farms, she partners closely with executive leadership and the Board of Directors, manages shareholder relations, and leads cross-functional initiatives that strengthen collaboration and operational effectiveness. Deeply committed to community and service, Natalie lives in Chico, California, with her three children and actively contributes to local nonprofit leadership. Her board experience spans governance, business strategy, and organizational development, reflecting her passion for building strong, connected communities. From 2023 to 2025, Natalie served as the inaugural Chair of IAAP’s Professional Development Forecasting Committee, where she led efforts to identify emerging trends and evolving needs within the administrative profession—ensuring IAAP members remain informed, relevant, and future-ready. Natalie’s leadership style is grounded in service, active listening, and inclusive collaboration. Florence Katono, CAP

Florence Katono is a double certified administrator, creative writer and Toastmaster. Florence has nearly two decades of administrative experience, working alongside top management executives in government organizations. She currently serves as an Executive Administrative Assistant in Bank of Uganda and has previously worked with National Water and Sewerage Corporation in Uganda. A forever learner, Florence holds a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelors of Secretarial Studies both from Makerere University, Kampala. Additionally, she holds a CAP (Certified Administrative Professional) and Prince 2 Foundation Certification. She has also pursued many leadership coaching and mentoring programs. Florence is a recognized leader of influence in the administrative industry, with strong global collaborations that have broadened her professional network and cross-cultural perspective. She has held leadership roles, including Chairperson, Vice Chairperson, and Strategy Champion of the Bank of Uganda Administrative Assistant Association (BUAA). She is the founding Branch Director of the International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP), Kampala branch. Her influence extends internationally, having represented Uganda and Africa at the World Administrators Alliance (WAA) and spoken at several Executive Secretary Live events. She previously won an international award as Pitman PA of the year 2015. A seasoned Toastmaster and gifted storyteller, Florence is often described as a "word painter". Her poems, “I am Intentional, I am Professional” and “Stride for Hope,” advocate for the administrative profession and maternal health. When she is not working, you can be sure to catch her on the dance floor, in her creative writing studio or in her garden tending to plants.

Maria Phillips, CAP

I am honored to serve as Chair-Elect for the IAAP Board of Directors, where I am dedicated to championing Administrative Professionals around the world. As a multi- award-winning Administrative Professional and Strategic Business Partner, I bring both passion and purpose to my leadership. I joined IAAP in 2010, and as an IAAP Foundation Scholarship recipient, I attended my first Summit in 2014. That experience was transformative; it inspired me to sit for the CAP exam and continue my learning through multiple CAPstone certificates. I am a strong supporter of the IAAP Foundation and embrace IAAP’s “coach approach” to leadership, striving to be both an agent of change and a motivational leader. As a recent graduate of the IAAP Aspire Leadership Academy-Next Level, I am poised to make an impact. Over the years, I have been privileged to serve in a variety of IAAP leadership roles, including Board Director, PDFC Committee Board Liaison, Finance Committee, Compensation Committee, Policy & Bylaw Committee, Foundation Ambassador, Region Director, and Branch Director. Beyond IAAP, I continue to give back to the profession and my community through global service with the World Administrators Alliance, Communications Team. My past volunteer service includes Admin Awards, National Advisory Board, JDRF Walk for a Cure and Run for the Kids, Missoula Marathon. My dedication to the profession has been recognized internationally, most recently as the 2024 Loyal Royal of the Year – International Award Winner from The PA Way (UK) and the 2022 Above the Call Award winner from the Pacific Northwest Admin Awards. I am currently employed as Office & Finance Administrator for St. Paul Lutheran Church in Missoula, Montana, a rewarding role I attribute in part to my CAP certification. Outside of work and volunteer service, I enjoy traveling, hiking, reading, cake decorating, painting, listening to live music, the beach and spending time with my wonderful family.

Kendra Adams, CAP

Kharma is a proven and trusted Business Associate with over 25 years background of supporting organizational change and growth with a key focus on employee engagement and creating a culture of belonging in organizations. Kharma received her Bachelor's degree from Trinity College and is a CAP (Certified Administrative Professional) designee from the International Association of Administrative Professionals. She previously co-founded the Administrative Professionals' Forum, a group that continues to create space for all assistants at a renowned healthcare organization and currently leverages her experience in renewable energy to support administrative professionals' career growth and achievements.

Kharma is a member of the International Association for Administrative Professionals and joined the Board of Directors as its first Diversity Officer. She is also a proud member and Energy Strategic Partner of Energy Industry Support International.

Since joining IAAP in 2002, she has served in multiple leadership roles, including IAAP Director and Chair-Elect, before stepping into her current position as President and Chair. Lillian Mayo, CAP

Lillian Mayo is an administrative leader with a rich and diverse background in executive-level support, strategic leadership, and operational efficiency. With nearly two decades of experience supporting C-suite executives, she understands the unique challenges faced in high-pressure environments and excels in driving meaningful organizational change with empathy and insight. Lillian values empowering her colleagues and fosters an inclusive environment that values diverse perspectives. Lillian began her leadership journey with the International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP) in 2008, which was a transformative step in her life and sparked a deep passion for advocacy of the administrative profession. As a graduate of both her employer's leadership development program and IAAP's Academy for Leadership Development program, Lillian remains committed to empowering others through her personal growth and development. Barrett Shaw, CAP

Barrett Shaw has worked as an administrative professional for over 20 years, primarily in a government setting. In his current role, he works as a Business Specialist at Mission Support and Test Services (MSTS), a government contractor in Las Vegas, Nevada. Barrett also works as an expert trainer for Leoron Professional Development Institute, based in Dubai; teaching Certified Administrative Professional (CAP) prep courses, along with other courses designed to teach administrative professionals essential skills to help them excel in their careers, throughout the Middle East. Barrett earned his doctorate in organizational leadership in 2014. His dissertation explored the relationship between the perceived emotional intelligence of a leader and employee engagement among administrative professionals. Barrett also holds a master of science in Psychology and a bachelor of art in Theater Arts. Barrett has been an active member of IAAP since 2008.

Colleen Sailer, CAP

Colleen Sailer, Lead Associate, Global Communications | Merck & Co., Inc. Colleen Sailer is a dedicated and versatile professional with over 30 years of experience in corporate administrative and executive support. As a Lead Associate in Global Communications at Merck & Co., Inc., she brings a wealth of expertise in communications, customer service, marketing, event planning, project management, and operations. Her background also includes management reporting and analytics, budgeting, vendor management, and C-suite executive assistance. A 1988 graduate of The HoHoKus School with a certification in Executive Secretarial Sciences, Colleen has built a career marked by precision, collaboration, and a commitment to excellence. She is known for her ability to manage complex projects and foster strong cross-functional relationships. Beyond her professional achievements, Colleen has a long-standing commitment to public service. She served as a certified Emergency Medical Technician in the State of New Jersey for over 25 years, holding several officer and board positions within her local EMS organization. Colleen lives in Northern New Jersey with her husband, Steve. She is a proud mother to two daughters—Emily, 27, and Grace, 23. An animal lover at heart, she shares her home with her beloved rescued pets: dogs Finn and Henri, and cat Ace. Kim Madrid, CAP

Kim Madrid, CAP, is an experienced administrative professional who serves as the Lead Executive Assistant to the President and CEO at the University of New Mexico Foundation, a nonprofit organization supporting higher education through philanthropic investment. In her role, Kim also leads the Foundation’s administrative team and contributes to the organization’s leadership group, helping shape internal strategy and team development. Kim is deeply committed to advancing the administrative profession through mentorship, visibility, and professional development. Since earning her CAP credential, she has focused on empowering others to recognize their value and pursue meaningful growth in their administrative careers. An active volunteer leader, Kim has served as the Branch Director for IAAP’s New Mexico Branch and consistently champions opportunities for connection and confidence-building within the admin community. Shanterria Seward, CAP

Shanterria "Shawn" Seward is a distinguished Executive Assistant with over 20 years of experience driving organizational excellence and operational efficiency. Her career foundation was built during her service as an active-duty member of the United States Air Force in Logistics, supporting critical missions domestically and internationally. Following her military service, Shawn continued supporting the Air Force in administrative roles worldwide before joining Georgia Power Corp HQ in Atlanta in 2014.

Shawn's professional journey began as an active-duty member of the United States Air Force, where she served in the field of Logistics, providing critical support to warfighters both domestically and abroad. After her active-duty career enlistment ended, Shawn’s support of the Air Force continued where she served in various roles in the administrative field all over the world. In 2015, after being selected as an Administrative Specialist at Georgia Power Corp HQ in Atlanta, Shawn joined the International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP). Her dedication to professional development led her to earn the prestigious CAP certification in 2017, followed by obtaining OM, PM, TA, and MEP designations. As a volunteer leader, she served as the Regional Director for Alabama, Georgia, and Mississippi for two years, and then as the Branch Director for the Ga Power/Metro Atlanta Branch for an impressive four years. Furthermore, Shawn has been an integral part of the IAAP Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee since its inception in 2021, actively working towards creating a more inclusive administrative professional community.

Beyond her professional commitments, Shawn's passion for community service is evident. She dedicates a significant amount of time to volunteering with the IAAP Georgia Power/Metro Atlanta Branch at the Atlanta Community Food Bank. Additionally, she supports the youth through the Future Business Leaders of America Conference and lends her aid to the military community through initiatives like Toys for Tots and other military volunteer opportunities. In recognition of her exceptional leadership and commitment, Shawn's team, under her guidance as the Branch Director, was nominated for "Team of the Year" in June 2023, by the PA Way, Admins in Wonderland Awards, honoring outstanding volunteerism.

While some may say that you can't take the city out of the girl, Shawn has found solace in the calm and peaceful environment of the mountains. Recently, she made the decision to relocate from the fast-paced city life to the serene city of Adairsville, Georgia, along with her husband of 34 years, who is also a retired United States Air Force veteran. Family is of utmost importance to Shawn, and she takes immense pride and joy in her three adult children, two of whom are happily married, and her two cherished grandchildren. With a love for the outdoors, she enjoys exploring the nearby mountains and lakes. However, during fall Saturdays, her heart is devoted to supporting her beloved Georgia Bulldogs Football Team, while on any given Sunday, she passionately cheers for the local home team, the Atlanta Falcons.

With an unwavering dedication to growth and development, Shawn is fully committed to serving the administrative professional community. As a servant leader, she brings a strong work ethic, valuable skills, and extensive experience coupled with her boundless enthusiasm and determination, Shawn is poised to contribute to the continued success and advancement of the association.

Carleen Muncy, CAP

My name is Carleen Kay Muncy, I currently reside in Norfolk, VA, and have been in the administrative profession for over 30 years, being a member of IAAP since 2010. I have a B.A. in Business Administration, have received my CAP and OM designations, and recently added ACEA to my list of credentials. Because of the opportunities I personally have been able to take advantage of by being an IAAP member, I can honestly attest to the many blessings that have come my way, daily. These include confidence, pride, and the ability to find positive, uplifting solutions during the course of everyday work life stressors, and the belief that I can make a difference reflected by my actions and demeanor. Being an administrative professional as a career choice, in my opinion is the best possible career one could have. No two days are ever the same – you never get a chance to be bored; but at the end of the day, this career affords you the satisfaction of a job well done, with pride and accomplishment.

I enjoy interacting and am very comfortable with all levels of management, from assisting colleagues to upper management. When confronted with issues, after taking a step back, collecting my thoughts, and breathing, I’ve been able to find workable solutions to all challenges. In my daily interactions, I’ve been able to establish my integrity, my honestly, and have proven time and again that I am the best person for successful completion of any task.

I enjoy dancing at every opportunity I can capture – whether it is country-two step, west-coast swing, or Latin American dances: bachata, salsa, cha-cha, and rumba. I also crochet blankets for my family, multi-tasking while relaxing and watching tv with my husband, Darron Muncy of 34 years. I have been able to complete blankets for 5 of my 6 children, 12 of my 16 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandkids. This has been a 10 yr. project!

I look forward to the opportunity to serve the community as an IAAP Board Director for the next 2 years, promoting IAAP together to become the best professional organization there is.

With an unwavering commitment to advancing the administrative profession and fostering excellence in administrative management, Heidi plays a pivotal role in driving the mission and vision of IAAP within her designated region.

Heidi's commitment to excellence in administrative leadership and her active participation within both the Leader Assistant community led by Jeremy Burrows and Staff Matters led by Bonnie Low-Kramen, coupled with her passion for travel, love of reading, and dedication to family, reflects her well-rounded approach to both her professional and personal life.

Nadine Waslosky, CAP

Nadine Waslosky, CAP joined IAAP in 2016 in search of continuing education and to pursue her Certified Administrative Professional credential which she earned in October 2022. She has 30 years’ experience in the administrative profession. Her first position was as an Executive Secretary for a general contractor, and when the owner was elected to public office, she became his legislative aide in the Florida Legislature, a position she held until 2000. In 2003, she became the Executive Assistant to the President/CEO for New Mexico’s largest credit union, wearing several hats over her 20-year career. She takes ownership for delivering exceptional and confidential administrative support to President/CEO, senior leadership team, Board of Directors, and Supervisory Committee. She serves as board liaison, supporting the work of the Board in maintaining its governance policies. In 2019, she was promoted to Director of Administrative Support to matrix-manage an Executive Support Team who collaborated with the Senior Leadership Team on organizational communications, proposal development, and research and analysis. In 2021, she managed employee events with the hiring of the company’s first Event & Travel Specialist. Nadine has a Bachelor of Science in Liberal Studies from the University of Central Florida and fosters a growth mindset by taking continuing education courses from the University of New Mexico, CUNA, CUES and IAAP. She was the Program Chair for the IAAP New Mexico Branch.

Nadine believes in volunteering in her community and serves as Secretary and Outreach Chair for her neighborhood association, coordinating its annual Fourth of July Bike Parade. She is also on the Servant’s Team and a Core Group leader in Community Bible Study and a volunteer in the Patron’s Lounge for Popejoy Hall. In her spare time, she enjoys being with her family and friends, listening to podcasts, walking her dogs, and playing tennis. But her daughters are her pride and joy, and she could not wait to meet her first grandchild, born in October 2023.

Kenya Johnson, CAP

Kenya L. Johnson serves as a Senior Manager for the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA) where she focuses primarily on managing the operational and administrative support for the law department and as the department’s resource manager. She also oversees all administrative processes and support staff while also supporting the Executive Vice President/General Counsel and six senior executive level staff. Kenya also serves on the leadership committee of the Change Agents Employee Resource Group. She is sought-after for her insights and opinions on various corporate and staff initiatives and corporate hiring decisions.

In her tenure at PhRMA, she has supported several senior attorneys in a wide range of practice areas such as legislative and regulatory law, government enforcement and corporate compliance, intellectual property and patents, corporate antitrust issues, biopharmaceutical law, international matters concerning importation and price controls, and federal programs such as Medicaid, Medicare, and 340B. Kenya is an active member of the International Association for Administrative Professionals (IAAP) where she serves as Director of the Board. She has held other positions such as Chair and Chair-Elect, DEI Committee, Branch Director and Membership Chair during her tenure as a member. IAAP is where she also received her certification as a Certified Administrative Professional. She has served on the inaugural 2022 DC Area Advisory Board for the AdminAwards and is a 2023 finalist for the Spirit Award and a 2024 Nominee for the Leadership Award. She is also an active member of the Worldwide Women’s Association and the National Notary Association where she is commissioned in the District of Columbia. Barbara Braun, CAP

Barbara Braun, CAP, OM, TA, has been an administrative professional for over 38 years with experience in non-profit and profit corporate world. A member of IAAP since 2001.

Volunteering is a very big part of my life and a constant throughout my career. My passion for volunteering in the community is a way to give back and inspire others to give back. I currently serve on the IAAP Foundation Board of Directors as the Finance Committee Chair. I have served on several local and national non-profit boards and have a passion for helping non-profit organizations. From leading and coordinating fundraising events to arranging individual and family volunteering, I believe the greatest gift we can give is our time serving others.

A large part of my professional career development throughout the years has come from my involvement in IAAP. From my first educational conference in 2001 in Toronto, Canada, through today, the educational conference, networking and training have shaped me into the administrative professional I am today. Through the support of colleagues and the IAAP community, my educational journey continues.

Carissa Burgett, CAP

With a deep passion and a commitment to advancing the administrative profession, Carissa Burgett currently serves as the Chair-Elect for the IAAP Foundation Board of Directors. In her day job, Burgett is the Assistant to the President and Board Administrator at the Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry. Her extensive background in board governance and dedication to elevating the standards for the administrative profession have led her to be a global trainer and speaker. She is career admin who is CAP certified, a Notary Public, a three-time administrative award finalist, and a mentor and coach to her fellow colleagues.

Terri Mullan, CAP

Terri Mullan, CAP, OM, HR, MOS, has over 35 years of experience, primarily in the financial industry in New York City. She is the Executive Assistant to the Chief Operating Officer and the Chief Business Officer at Two Sigma, a financial sciences private hedge fund.

Terri's proactive approach to professional development is evident in her journey. After assisting with the launch of the internal global administrative network (GAIN) at BlackRock, she recognized the need for an external network to further her advocacy for the administrative profession. This led her to join IAAP in 2019 and earn her CAP in the Fall of the same year. She has since completed the Organizational Management and Human Resources CAPstone specialty certifications, as well as Foundations of Leadership in 2021. Her commitment to learning is further underscored by her upcoming participation in the Meeting & Event Planning course during Fall 2024 CAPstone.

Her leadership journey to her current role as an IAAP Foundation Board Director began by serving as the IAAP NYC Metro Branch Director, then as the New York/New Jersey Region Director, and as the North Atlantic Region Director. Her advocacy for the Administrative Profession led to a volunteer role with the World Administrators Alliance on the Communications Team beginning in 2021. The exposure through both IAAP and WA-Alliance was instrumental in her achievement as a finalist for an international award as Ambassador of the Year in 2022. Her focus has been mentoring volunteer leadership and building confident leaders, and as a collaborative leader, she looks forward to working with the IAAP Foundation and Association Boards on the strategic goals and challenges ahead for our profession.

Anika Porter, CAP

I'm Anika Porter; I have over twenty years of administrative experience and am known for my engaging personality, keen attention to detail, and wicked humor. I am a military mom, a daughter inspired by nuggets of wisdom from my parents, and a baby sister to a financial whiz. My character is shaped by the legacy of my ancestors, who instilled in me the courage to be an outspoken advocate. I embrace the possibilities and strive to meet people where they are, valuing the unique purpose we all hold. I'm a firm believer in constant growth and learning, and I'm grateful for the daily grace that allows me to do so. I hold CAP and OM certifications and recently completed the Project Management Capstone. Additionally, I've earned an MBA in Marketing and a Master of Communication in New Media. A Georgia native, I find solace in Beulah Missionary Baptist Church, volunteering at my local food bank, and cheering for my Atlanta Falcons during football season. I am a music lover, avid reader, and the fourth unseen contestant on Jeopardy.

Elaine Strohm, CAP

Elaine Strohm, BA, CAP, BW, MEP has been supporting executives and other professionals for over 24 years. In 2025, she launched her own business, Crafted to Scale, as an Online Business Manager (OBM), where she partners with entrepreneurs and small business owners to bring clarity, structure, and strategic support to their operations. Elaine graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Queen’s University in Ontario, Canada. Over the course of her career, she has gained experience across both private and public sectors, developing a reputation for excellence in administrative leadership. She has earned her Certified Administrative Professional (CAP) designation, as well as IAAP’s Business Writing (BW) and Meeting and Event Planning (MEP) CAPstone specialty certificates. Committed to ongoing professional growth, Elaine completed IAAP’s Aspire leadership training and a Certificate in Psychologically Safe Leadership through the University of New Brunswick in 2024. A firm believer in stepping out of her comfort zone, she has embraced IAAP volunteer leadership. Her first experience was serving two terms as IAAP Maritime Branch Director, which represents Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Prince Edward Island, Canada. Chris Cason, CAP

With over 15 years of experience as an Administrative Professional, I’ve worn many hats. Through my current strategic partnership with the IAAP CEO, I am immersed in the work that fills my soul. Outside of work, I’m all about enjoying the outdoors, exercising, visiting museums, going to movies, and wine tasting!

Our mission really speaks to me, and I feel like I’m in the perfect place to support radical change. I’m passionate about changing perceptions of what it means to partner with executives and creating real opportunities for Administrative Professionals globally. Jae Gray

With a strong foundation in social services and community organizing, I’ve discovered my professional spark in ensuring meaningful work happens seamlessly. I thrive behind the scenes, building effective and equitable processes that advance my organization's mission. I hold bachelor's and master's degrees in Early Childhood and Family Development from Missouri State University and proudly serve on the Young Ambassador Board at The Children's Place, a Kansas City nonprofit specializing in early childhood trauma treatment. Outside of my professional life, I prioritize relationships and experiences. Whether traveling, savoring great food, attending live performances, or listening to podcasts that make me laugh and learn, I find joy in connection and discovery.

Danelle Hermesch

My name is Danelle Hermesch, and I proudly serve as Foundation Specialist of IAAP Foundation. With a background in special education, my career has consistently focused on advocacy, empowerment, and education. Since joining IAAP in 2022, I have been deeply involved in advancing the administrative profession and am particularly inspired by our scholarship program, funded by fellow admins. This program highlights the generosity of our community and our collective commitment to professional growth. It’s a powerful reminder of how we can all make a difference.

Outside of work, I am a nurturer at heart, enjoying time with family and friends, participating in local events, indulging in good food, reading, and occasionally painting. I find joy in lending a hand in various projects, further reflecting my passion for helping others.

Christi Jones

With over a decade of experience in higher education and a background in early childhood education as a preschool director and special needs educator, I am deeply committed to connecting individuals with transformative opportunities for learning and leadership. As a passionate lifelong learner, I thrive on building meaningful connections and fostering professional growth. I hold bachelor's degrees from the University of Kansas and have earned my Certified Administrative Professional (CAP) certification (2023), along with specialty certificates in Business Writing and Project Management. I am also a graduate of the Leadership Academy (2022). Beyond my professional pursuits, I find balance and inspiration through outdoor adventures like camping, traveling, practicing yoga, and spending time with my family.

My journey with IAAP began when I was encouraged pursue a leadership course, introducing me to the Foundations of Leadership program—an experience that profoundly transformed my professional trajectory. This pivotal moment ignited my passion for professional development and leadership, ultimately leading me to join the IAAP staff. As a former member turned team contributor, I am deeply committed to empowering administrative professionals through knowledge and advocacy. I find immense fulfillment in connecting individuals with learning and leadership opportunities that can catalyze personal and professional growth. My role at IAAP is more than a job—it's a calling that aligns closely with my personal mission. I am honored to support and contribute to a community that champions the development of administrative professionals, and I remain excited about fostering meaningful connections and empowerment for professionals across diverse fields.

Melissa Mahoney, CAE

With authenticity and generosity as my top personal core values, my leadership is infused with genuine connection and a spirit of collaboration. I passionately foster meaningful relationships with IAAP members, industry partners, and admin advocates, creating a vibrant community united in advancing the administrative profession. Through my unwavering dedication, I am committed to shaping the future of IAAP and leaving a lasting, transformative impact on the administrative profession. Beyond my professional landscape, I find immense joy in family, sports, travel, and the simple pleasure of a good book or series, unwinding in the tranquility of my home or the vast openness of nature.

At the heart of my journey is a profound belief in authenticity and meaningful connections. From my first career as a kindergarten Montessori teacher, to my bold career change into the administrative profession, to now leading the International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP), I've navigated my path with decisiveness and an unwavering commitment to living my core values.

Rand Lunceford

Rand serves as the Executive Assistant to the Chief Experience Officer (CXO) at IAAP. A dedicated administrative professional, he first engaged with IAAP as a member and earned his Certified Administrative Professional (CAP) certification in 2023. With a background spanning nonprofit, corporate, and entertainment industries, he previously supported executive leadership at Friends of the Children – Utah and managed operations for Lagoon Amusement Park’s Ride Division. Beyond his professional role, Rand is committed to community service and activism. He serves as Board Secretary for the Discovery Gateway Children’s Museum on the Young Professionals Board and as a Commissioner on the Utah Martin Luther King Jr. Human Rights Commission, helping advance civil rights and community engagement initiatives.

Before joining IAAP as staff, I discovered IAAP after searching for ways to make myself stand out as an administrative professional, but I found so much more than that. I found a community that is focused on growth, lifelong learning, and advocacy for administrative professionals. I am proud to be part of an organization that not only recognizes admins but empowers us to do and be our best.

Hannah Dixon

I joined IAAP in September 2024, with a background in communication, having earned both a bachelor's and master's degree in communication from Pittsburg State University. As the Credentialing Communications Specialist, I am dedicated to developing and executing communication strategies that promote the Certified Administrative Professional (CAP) program. With a focus on crafting engaging content and managing communication plans, I support IAAP’s credentialing initiatives and help administrative professionals advance their careers.

My work in communications began with a passion for empowering others and fostering connections, which aligns with IAAP’s mission and values. The deep commitment to ensuring that administrative professionals have the resources and support they need to succeed is the top priority of the entire IAAP staff. Through creating content and supporting the growth of credentialing programs, I am proud to contribute to IAAP’s vision of shaping the future of work for administrative professionals worldwide.

Jayme Willis

With a keen eye for design and a strong interest in effective communication strategy, I leverage my nonprofit, education, and publishing background in my role as IAAP's Marketing and Communications Specialist. I craft compelling visual assets and develop innovative creative strategies that amplify IAAP's message and reach.

Beyond the office, I channel my energy into marathon training and staying active. My downtime includes losing myself in books, pursuing various crafts (most currently, pottery), and embracing nature through hiking, lounging in a hammock, camping, and cycling adventures. An enthusiastic traveler, I seek out National Parks whenever possible and never shy away from the opportunity to visit a coffee shop for a triple-shot latte. Most importantly, I treasure quality time with my husband, Cory, and our beloved pets, Ruby and Hadley.

I am drawn to IAAP for its inclusive, mission-driven work that resonates with my core values. I'm passionate about the organization's commitment to empowering administrative professionals through education and advocacy, enabling them to discover their full potential and embrace opportunities for growth. As a lifelong learner, I'm dedicated to harnessing my creative abilities to serve others and create meaningful community impact, particularly through education and advocacy initiatives. IAAP offers both the ideal environment for my continued professional development and a supportive community where I can truly embody my values of authenticity and empathy.

Tony Nichols

I was hired as Operations manager in May of 2022 after many years working in local government. Never in my professional career have I been part of a team that is more committed to the organizational mission, I consider myself very lucky to be part of this team. Outside of work I am usually at practice or games for one of our two boys. My family shares a love of the outdoors and will find time for a hike or bike ride as often as we can.

Ashley Root

Ashley joined the IAAP team as the Partnership Manager in November 2023. Prior to joining IAAP, I came from the non-profit sector where I found immense joy in supporting others and serving the community. I love knowing that each day I am contributing to IAAP’s mission and that our work has such a huge impact on the administrative profession. Outside of my time at work, I like to spend my time outdoors in nature with my family, working out, and keeping up with the sports world.

Being part of a mission centered around advocacy and empowerment is what initially drew me to IAAP. My career has largely focused on community impact, and at IAAP, I’m able to stay true to my core values. I’m committed to advancing the administrative profession while ensuring that accessibility and equity remain central to my work.

Amy Sajko, CFRE

Like many at IAAP, I have personal experience as an administrative professional. My very first office job was as a secretary at the American Cancer Society, supporting a volunteer coordinator and a fundraising director. My commitment to serving others grew into a career in fundraising and nonprofits. I’ve had the opportunity to work in many environments, including higher education, another professional association, and a local United Way. Each new experience has fed my love for continuous learning. It is this dedication to service and learning that brought me full circle to join the IAAP Foundation as CEO in May 2022.

On a personal note, my husband of 35+ years and I recently settled in Louisville, KY with our dog, Jack Jack. We love spending time with our three grown children and exploring new places, food, and drink. Additionally, I enjoy word puzzles, books, needlework and am (trying!) to master wheel thrown pottery.

I am a strong advocate for education, lifelong learning, and professional certification. In fact, I’ve been a Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) since 2002. People that join that IAAP community come because they are committed administrative professionals. They want to be the best at what they are doing. They want to learn and grow and expand. That passion perfectly aligns with my personal values. What I’ve learned during my tenure with IAAP is that far too many admins do not have the resources they need to thrive. No one will advocate for this group of professionals as effectively as they can themselves – provided they have the right tools and opportunities – and being able to directly impact their access to those tools and opportunities drives me every day.

Rachel Suman

When I joined IAAP's conferences and professional development department as an administrative professional in January 2013, I brought with me over 15 years of hands-on administrative experience. My own journey within IAAP – learning, growing, and discovering new opportunities – has been transformative, and it fuels my passionate belief that every administrative professional deserves the same chance to thrive, whether in their current role or beyond. Now, as Chief Experience Officer (CXO), I've dedicated myself to transforming how we think about and implement leadership across all professional levels. My extensive background in administration has given me a unique perspective on the power of inclusive leadership and the importance of giving every voice a seat at the table, regardless of title or position.

My superpower lies in building genuine connections through empathy – it's not just what I do, it's who I am. Throughout my tenure, I've had the privilege of creating and supporting initiatives that break down traditional hierarchical barriers and foster an environment where every professional can thrive. Seeing the tangible impact of these efforts – watching people grow, connect, and step into their full potential – brings me immense fulfillment.

I deeply believe that leadership isn't about titles – it's about impact, accessibility, and accountability. Every professional, regardless of their role, deserves access to empowering leadership opportunities and the tools to succeed. This conviction has been the driving force behind every initiative I've spearheaded, always asking myself: "How can we make leadership more accessible? How can we ensure every voice is heard?"

Beyond my professional passion, I find joy in cultivating a harmonious life that balances work, family, and personal well-being. My commitment to health and wellness isn't just a hobby – it's a fundamental part of how I show up for myself and others. You'll often find me taking long walks, which serve as both meditation and movement, or curled up with a good book, constantly feeding my love for learning and personal growth. These moments, combined with precious time spent with my family, ground me and fuel my ability to serve others effectively in my professional role.

Abbey Healy

I joined IAAP as Credentialing Assistant in March 2025. My previous experiences in higher education, nonprofit, and government workplaces and my work towards my degrees in Public Administration and Humanities from Kansas State University have helped me find my enthusiasm for service and community building. I am especially committed to promoting lifelong education and to making bureaucratic processes more accessible. I am so happy to be the human voice, face, and cheerleader supporting all administrative professionals’ certification journeys.

I’m driven by opportunities to solve problems and to simplify complex processes. I enjoy breaking down challenges and making their solutions more accessible. Beyond problem-solving, I work to build community in every space I join. Whether through collaboration or humor, I aim to create an environment where people feel connected, supported, and comfortable working together. Ultimately, I hope my work turns obstacles into opportunities and fosters a space where teamwork and connection happen every day.

Ashley Vaughn

I am a dynamic and results-driven educational psychologist and program evaluator who comes to IAAP with over a decade of experience in program management, grant evaluation, and higher education. With expertise in mixed methods research and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives, I specialize in leveraging data-driven insights to foster organizational growth and improve participation of underrepresented groups. My background includes evaluating large-scale projects funded by NASA and the National Science Foundation, developing curriculum and professional development programs, and conducting strategic planning to enhance educational and programmatic outcomes. As a professor, I mentored students in social science research, educational psychology, and grant writing. Beyond academia, I bring advanced analytical skills in tools like SPSS, R, Tableau, and Power BI, ensuring data informs meaningful decision-making. My passion for data driven decision making, research, and strategic leadership drives my commitment to creating impactful programs and fostering inclusive learning environments.

I am driven by a deep passion for education, especially adult learners, equity, and the power of data to create meaningful change. Throughout my career, I have been committed to expanding opportunities for everyone, using research and evaluation to break down barriers and foster inclusive environments. I believe that professional development is not just about imparting knowledge—it’s about empowerment, access, and creating systems that support each individual. By leveraging data-driven insights, strategic planning, and evidence-based practices, I aim to design and evaluate programs that make a lasting impact. Katie Mercier, CAP

I’ve been part of IAAP since 2011, and my career has taken me on quite the nonprofit adventure—hospitality, ministry, and now the wonderful world of associations. If there’s one thing I love, it’s learning, especially when it comes to credentialing, leadership, coaching, and service. I hold an associate degree from Young Harris College and an ABJ in Advertising from the University of Georgia (Go Dawgs!), and I proudly earned my Certified Administrative Professional (CAP) certification. When I’m not deep in the world of exams and certifications, you’ll find me reading, traveling, or convincing friends to try that new restaurant I found.

I was drawn to IAAP because this profession is a beautiful blend of strategy, service, and connection—three things that light me up! Earning my CAP changed the trajectory of my career, and I want every administrative professional to experience that same empowerment. Certification isn’t just for one stage of your career; it’s valuable at every step. My goal is to make this journey accessible to all, helping admins see their worth and potential. At the core of everything I do are my values: joy, kindness, and a firm belief that the right credential at the right time can change everything.
