In this course we will spend considerable time on how diversity is an enhancement to the workplace and how we can promote, foster, and grow diversity and its elements within that space. The workshop will take the time to discuss the dynamics of power, privilege, and hierarchy within the workplace. Key terms will be presented and discussed and case studies will be offered for analysis. Workshop participants will be expected to participate in lively and respectful discussion. Those participating should come prepared to take notes, report out, and read short selections. Participants will have the opportunity to work on their complex and critical thinking expertise, but also analytical abilities and how to better consider the intersectionalities of diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace. Goals for Learning Outcomes for Two and a Half Days: - The examination of implicit bias analysis and identity.
