Summit Packing List
Hi all, I'm trying to put together my packing list for Summit and I just want to see what everyone else recommends bringing? I think I have all my necessities packed. But what is something that you have brought that has been helpful or needed? Thanks in advance and looking forward to seeing everyone and meeting new people!

Jenna, I bring my favorite water bottle, with lid and an extra power pack to charge my phone while traveling.

I not only bring a sweater/jacket, but also a pashmina/wrap to lay on my lap when the meeting rooms get frigid.

I usually bring some individually wrapped snacks that I can stick in my purse in case I need a little boost.  I also try to leave room in my luggage for the "extras" that I know will come home with me.

Do any of you ladies take your laptop?

I always bring my laptop. It's how I take notes. It's also especially helpful during the Saturday technology sessions. I have two or three external battery chargers that I bring with me for both my phone and my friend's phones. My friend Kim ALWAYS brings those little rolls of mints you can get by the grocery store checkout. It wouldn't be Summit without Kim passing out those mints! Don't forget your cowboy boots for the Opening Celebration! Other random things I bring: nail file, pashmina (I have an IAAP one I bought at Summit two years ago), refillable water bottle or plastic tumbler, unscented cuticle oil (in pen form), individual servings of wine for my room just in case I'm feeling frisky, a few snacks for the room.

Summit Packing List and Other Tips
  • Put your event tickets in your badge holder and hang that on the door handle of your room when you tuck in at night.  That way you won't have to go back for either
  • I'm not a coffee drinker, so I always bring my favorite tea so I can enjoy a cuppa while I'm getting ready in the morning.
  • Definitely lap-top.
  • Pre-printed UPS or FedEx shipping label to ship books and materials purchased back to the office so I don't have to make room in my luggage.
  • Lotion - hotel air conditioning is drying, and in TX will be more so.
  • Head phones for your phone.
  • A scarf or fabric swatch to tie onto your attendee bag, so you know which one is yours at a glance (especially if you share a room!) Also a great idea for your luggage. Also, I tuck a smaller, well organized purse into the attendee bag, rather than bringing a larger handbag or tote.
  • Definitely comfortable shoes!
  • Notebook style of your choice. Without handouts, you will want to jot down those gems and "aha! moments" somewhere.

See you soon, and safe travels, everyone!
