I attended IAAP Summit in 2017 and found the experience to be inspirational. It validated all along that I have chosen the correct path in my career . For the past several years I have always been asked "what would you like to do next?" This was always a struggle as I loved being an EA and didn't necessarily want to move into another field as part of my career path or professional development. After attending Summit it was clear that I am doing what I love to do and would like to just develop my skill set in this area to be the best EA I can be. Getting my CAP certification means that I am putting the time into my development and shows my organization, my boss and my peers that the EA role is a skilled profession. That it takes hard work, emotional intelligence and a certain skill set to be a good EA. I'm nervous about the exam as it's been a very long time but I know that stepping out of my comfort zone and accomplishing this goal is the next step in my path. Looking forward to it!
