April 2021 CAP Certification

My name is Candice Shafer and I live in the Houston, Texas area. I have held administrative roles for 15 years, starting as a Receptionist / HR Assistant after graduating High School. I have worked in the insurance industry, legal industry, and for the past 9 years I have been in the engineering / petrochemical industry. I enjoy learning, but have never attended college. I actively teach myself new things by reading, taking LinkedIn courses, watching You-Tube videos, etc. I believe that learning never stops.

I am sitting for the CAP exam for three reasons: 1) to show to employers that although I don't have a college education, I am capable of learnings new things; 2) to learn new things to enhance my body of knowledge; and 3) to show my son that learning is important at all ages of life.

I am preparing for the exam by participating in Marie Herman's CAP Study Group. I have not studied since high school, and although I am feeling a bit anxious, I am confident that I will stay committed to my study plan and will meet my goal of passing the April 2021 CAP Certification exam. Anything worth having takes hard work to achieve!

What a fantastic example you are setting for your son! I love it! There is nothing like a live example to enforce the importance of lifelong learning. Smile He may benefit from some of the tips you will be picking up. LOL

I know you can do this. Let's go get you certified!
