Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center is just over 40 miles from Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI); 35 miles from Dulles International Airport (IAD); and 8 miles from Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA). Ground transportation costs range from $18.20 one-way-trip for a Super Shuttle (be sure to use the discount code IAAP1) to $27 one-way for an Uber from DCA.

At any IAAP event, you agree to:

• Respect the boundaries of other attendees.
• Avoid aggressively pushing your own services, products, or causes.
• Respect confidentiality requests by speakers and other attendees.
• Give your full attention to any presenter or speaker.
• Look out for one another.

These behaviors don't belong at any IAAP event:

• Being disruptive, drinking excessively, stalking, following, or threatening anyone.
• Abuse of power (including abuses related to position, wealth, race, or gender).
• Homophobia, racism, or behavior that discriminates against a group or class of people.
• Sexual harassment of any kind, including unwelcome sexual attention and inappropriate physical contact.
• Being overly critical or aggressive toward venue staff, IAAP staff, speakers, and fellow attendees.

Contact us to report an incident

If, while at an IAAP event, you have been involved or have witnessed an incident that violates the Attendee Conduct Expectations policy, please make an IAAP staff member aware immediately. Share as much information as you can to help us make a thorough investigation of the onsite incident.

We also recognize that problems with the venue occur. Please bring any concern regarding the venue or its staff to the attention of an IAAP staff representative so that we may address it through the proper channels.

Presenters are asked to agree to a similar code of conduct. If any speaker violates any of these terms, please report them to your nearest IAAP staff member so that we may address it.

IAAP's commitment

IAAP will investigate all incidents reported at an event with discretion and confidentiality. IAAP reserves the right to bar any person who violates our Conduct Expectations from attending an IAAP event in its entirety or in part, and/or to revoke the membership of the person without refund.

Ribbon Bar

The IAAP Foundation is once again hosting the Summit Ribbon Bar! Visit their table near registration between 1 and 7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 17 or 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Thursday, July 18 and grab your favorite ribbon or two. They’re great conversation starters! Donations will be accepted.

First Time Attendees

First Time Attendee Orientation is on Wednesday, July 17 from 4:30 – 5:30pm in Exhibit Hall D and is a must-attend for Summit newbies! You’ll have a chance to learn the ropes, meet some great people, and get an overview of the Summit experience.

Opening Celebration is a conference favorite this year, to be sure! Bring your free drink ticket and get ready to dance, mingle, and meet some new people. Mark your calendars – Exhibit Hall E at 8:00pm on Thursday, July 18!

The Morning Walk

The Morning Walk is a favorite among conference attendees and well worth the early hour. Meet in front of the main entrance before 6:00am Thursday - Saturday for a roughly two-mile walk. The leader will let you know the route, and you’ll meet some fun and energetic people!

Stand-Up Desks

NEW THIS YEAR! Each education room will have tall cocktail tables in the back of the room. We’d love for you to use these as stand-up desks, whether for a short time or for the length of the session.

Power Strip Availability

All technology sessions have power strips at each table, and you are encouraged to bring your laptop for a hands-on workshop. All other workshop sessions will have power strips at the table, but please do your best to put your device in the middle of the table for the duration of the session to ensure full attention and participation.

You will receive an email with your login information by July 1, which will let you know when the app is ready for download.

Conference Bags

In an effort to be green and reduce waste, conference bags are not provided. Please plan accordingly; stop by the IAAP Foundation table near registration to purchase a great Summit bag for only $5!

Badges

Please be sure to wear your badge for entrance to all conference events, including meals and education workshops. (Your badge will be required for entrance to the Closing Celebration this year) However, don’t wear your badge outside the hotel for safety reasons.

Safety/Security

Your safety and security are a high priority for IAAP.
