DIVERSITY, EQUITY, & INCLUSION (DEI) COMMITTEE APPLICATION

Are you passionate about creating sustained change within the IAAP community and committed to creating a diverse and inclusive IAAP culture?

IAAP insists on justice, inclusivity, diversity, and equity. IAAP is a community where intolerance of any kind is unacceptable, and the association will not allow it to prevail within any level of the community. It’s time to be uncomfortable and have the difficult conversations.

If you are ready to create change and ensure every single person experiences belonging within the IAAP community, the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Committee is a great fit for you. DEI members must understand the critical link between DEI and the association’s strategic priorities. Its members must prioritize diversity and demonstrate a visible commitment to practicing equity and inclusion.

  • Monitor and oversee the Member Resource Groups (MRGS)
  • Monitor IAAP member experience, reporting concerns or needs to the board as needed to uphold an inclusive culture

The IAAP Board is responsible for setting the strategic direction of IAAP, including through standing committees. To ensure a dynamic and inclusive association that is relevant to supporting the administrative profession, and one that can effectively uphold IAAP’s core purpose, it is imperative that diverse committees lead the organization. As part of the nominating process, committee diversity is to be evaluated across several criteria: professional expertise, knowledge, abilities, and perspectives, as well as ethnicity, race, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, socioeconomic background, age, and other dimensions of diversity. Consideration should also be given to individuals who bring intersectional perspectives, ensuring the board reflects the diverse lived experiences of our community. Our commitment to diversity is complemented by a focus on equity, ensuring all committee members have the opportunity to contribute and lead.
