IAAP Foundation Scholarships: Mālama ‘ohana Scholarship

Mālama ‘ohana Scholarship
IAAP Summit 2026 | In-person

The Mālama ‘ohana Scholarship was created by longtime IAAP supporters Roy and Nora Onishi to honor the spirit of ‘ohana—family, community, and support. This scholarship is designed to assist IAAP members from Hawaii in attending IAAP’s annual Summit by providing financial support for registration, lodging, and travel.

If no eligible applicants from Hawaii apply, the scholarship may be awarded to another applicant from the Summit scholarship pool.

Scholarships Include:

  • Full registration for IAAP Summit 2026
  • Three nights of hotel accommodations at the official conference hotel
  • Travel allowance

Candidate Criteria

All candidates for the Mālama ‘ohana Scholarship are expected to meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Be a resident of Hawaii (preferred)
  • Be available to attend IAAP Summit 2026 in person
  • Not currently serving as an IAAP board member or in leadership roles such as chairs or chair-elects
  • Scholarship must be used in the year it is awarded

If no Hawaii-based applicants apply, the scholarship may be awarded to a highly qualified Summit applicant from another location.
