Regional and Branch Coordinator Applications

Are you currently serving as a Branch or Regional Director and looking for the next step in your leadership journey? Then one of our Coordinator roles might be a great fit for you!


General Overview

These positions are similar in scope and responsibilities but differ slightly based on the focus of either assisting Branch or Regional Directors. To gauge a better idea of the differences in these positions and what might be the best fit for you please review the Branch Coordinator Position Description and the Regional Coordinator Position Description in their entirety. Below is a brief overview of the positions and what the responsibilities entail. 

Purpose

Support IAAP's core purpose by mentoring, and, depending on role, assisting either the current Regional Directors or Branch Directors and Regions/Branches that are not currently represented.  Recruit new Regional Directors and/or Branch Directors and assists with succession planning.

General Responsibilities

Assist Regional and/or Branch Directors

  • Connect, check-in and offer guidance and direction when needed. A monthly group check in call is scheduled and hosted in collaboration with HQ staff.
  •  Be prepared to answer questions and respond to concerns from Directors
  • Recruit new Directors and assist them with getting started
  • Attend Regional/Branch events whenever possible
  • Assist Directors with their agenda outline for their term, include the following topics:
    • Building Brand
    • Building Business
    • Building Community
  • Assist with leader transitions whenever possible 

Promote and represent IAAP professionally and positively

  •  Encourage member attendance at Region and Branch events through social media, email, newsletters, and conversations
  •  Attend Regional/Branch events whenever possible to network with members and potential members
  • Bring IAAP Brand Awareness to Directors
  • Ensure all social media posts and communications are professional and appropriate, even on their personal social media channels and communications
  • Engage with non-member admins whenever possible to introduce IAAP and the benefits of membership

Time Frame

Commitments

  • Term of service: one (1) year July through July
  •  Connect with Board Mentor regularly
  • Attend all Volunteer Leader trainings
  • Attend Regional Director Retreat: Attend Regional Director Retreat: The in-person retreat is held in Kansas City, MO during the fall. The RD Retreat can be attended virtually if needed but in person attendance is highly encouraged. (Travel expenses will be covered by IAAP)
  • Attend Branch Director training *If you cannot attend in person, you can attend virtually

Application and Selection Information

IAAP Branch Coordinator Candidate application forms will open in January, and must be submitted using the online application form no later than 5:00 pm CT, January 20, 2023. Applications will be reviewed and vetted by the Governance and Leadership Committee based on the established criteria. A subcommittee of the GLC will conduct interviews via Zoom with all eligible candidates. The GLC will approve applicants to go to board for appointment. All candidates will be notified of the application review results by late spring, an announcement to all IAAP members will be made in June.


Candidate Criteria

Coordinators will be expected to embody and steward the four quadrants of the IAAP Leadership Matrix. Please make sure to review the matrix in detail before applying.  

The below items are required to serve as a Regional Coordinator:

  • Must be an IAAP member for at least the previous consecutive two (2) years
  •  Candidates for Regional Coordinator must be currently employed in an office support or administrative role. (Virtual or In Person)
  • Minimum of two years’ experience as a Regional Director
  • Certified Administrative Professional (CAP) designation required

The below items are required to serve as a Branch Coordinator:

  • Must be an IAAP member for at least the previous consecutive two (2) years
  • Candidates for Branch Coordinator must be currently employed in an office support or administrative role (Virtual or In Person)
  • Minimum of one-year experience as a Branch Director
  • Certified Administrative Professional (CAP) designation is required
