Diversity Disclosure: The IAAP Board is responsible for setting the strategic direction of IAAP. To ensure a dynamic and inclusive association that is relevant to supporting the administrative profession, and one that can effectively uphold IAAP’s core purpose, it is imperative that diverse volunteers lead the organization. As part of the nominating process, volunteer diversity is to be evaluated across several criteria: professional expertise, knowledge, abilities, and perspectives, as well as ethnicity, race, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, socioeconomic background, age, and other dimensions of diversity. Consideration should also be given to individuals who bring intersectional perspectives, ensuring the board reflects the diverse lived experiences of our community. Our commitment to diversity is complemented by a focus on equity, ensuring all volunteers have the opportunity to contribute and lead.

I understand that I am applying for a leadership position within IAAP and, if approved, I agree to fulfill the responsibilities expected of me and to work with other volunteer leaders toward the common good of the association and profession. As a leader within IAAP I understand that I am expected to represent the association, its membership, the profession, and its ideals to the utmost of my abilities. All IAAP leaders must abide by a code of conduct drawn from the idealized attributes of this association. As an IAAP leader I am expected to strive for excellence in passing on wisdom and supporting others toward reaching their highest potential; good listening skills; objectivity; accountability and presence; patience; loyalty; capacity to inspire; clarity of thought; and rational decision-making.

I understand that any IAAP leader found in violation of the IAAP code of conduct, either on premises or on a public facing platform like social media, will be asked to step down and, depending on the incident’s severity, may be asked to leave the organization. I also understand that my work with IAAP is strictly as a volunteer, and there is no remuneration other than certain reimbursed expenses which will be detailed to me as necessary.
