September 2016 OM Exam

Hi Everyone,

My name is Janis Wyatt, CAP and I am sitting for the last OM exam in Sept. 2016, well at least the last one under the old format. I took my CAP & OM back in December 2013 and passed the CAP and missed passing the OM by 50 points, (ugh), but I was so excited to have my CAP designation that it didn't bother me too much that I didn't get my OM designation at that time. I knew one day I would try again for the OM designations, but I didn't realize it would take me almost 3 years to do it. But I am ready now and I know going back over the materials will help me in my new job. I am still at the same place of employment but in a different area with a different executive. She depends on me more than my last executive and she has often told me I am an extension to her. That makes me feel valued, respected and gives me more confidence in decision making when she is not available. I hope to gain a promotion this year after obtaining the OM designation and I will be attending IAAP Summit this summer for the first time. I certainly hope to meet some of you there. Good luck to everyone siting for their CAP and/or OM this fall!!! #iaaprocks!

Woo hooo!!! Another one going to Summit! It's going to be a fantastic event.

I'm so glad to see that you are going back to check this unfinished item off your to do list. It certainly wouldn't have been the end of the world if you hadn't done it, but it's so much more rewarding to complete those kinds of tasks. You can do this!!!

In 2004, after passing the CPS - now the CAP, I received a promotion.

Even though you have been doing this work all along and are no doubt exceptional in many ways, passing the CAP can be the proof that others need to see you are head and shoulders above others in a similar role.

Good for you!

Sharon
