Why I am studying for my CAP Certification
I have been an Executive Assistant for much of my career, typically serving C-suite execs, Boards of Directors, Legislators, and Directors. I took my first Office Coordinator position with a little start-up software company in Seattle and have loved being an assistant ever since - especially in smaller companies. I have had numerous titles over the 20 year span of my career ranging from Office Coordinator, Office Manager, Administrative Assistant, Administrative Specialist, Operations Director, Operations Analyst, Board Liaison, and Marketing Assistant. But really, all the positions I have held over the years, have had similar responsibilities and goals. Everything Admin! After going through a divorce and getting my kids off to college, I decided it was time to prove to myself that I have what it takes to be a Certified Administrative Professional. And since I generally like working in smaller companies and start-ups, I usually wear many hats. Each hat has its own set of skills and requirements, just like the CAP Exam. So here I am, 53, dating, studying, helping my adult children where I can and generally just enjoying life. It only gets better from here!

Yay You Cheryl!!
I received my certification in 2016. Even though I don't get any sort of "benefit" from my certification and no one in my company even knows what it is, I am very proud of myself for earning it. Keep up the good work !

Outstanding! I love seeing people embrace lifelong learning and challenging themselves against getting into ruts.

You can do this!!!
