Sitting for the Fall 2022 CAP Exam
Hi All, I currently work as an Administrative Secretary, then Administrative Assistant, and now Administrative Coordinator for a law enforcement agency's Chief of Police for almost 21 years. After MANY years of wanting to obtain the CAP title, and after a little push from my husband and support from my supervisor, I have decided to pull the trigger and sit for the Fall 2022 CAP Exam. I have two teenage boys, ages 19 and 17, and I've wanted to do this since my youngest was an infant but knew I wouldn't be able to dedicate the time required to put forth the studying to make it happen. Now that I have one in college and one beginning his senior year of high school, I thought what better time? My college student is at home for the summer and has been encouraging me to get the ball rolling; and although my 17 year old is currently attending Army basic training this summer and isn't currently home, he's been more than supportive through the limited phone calls and letters we've been exchanging. Studying will also be a good distraction for my mind while he's at BCT! They're glad to see mom doing something she has wanted to do for a very long time, and as their mom, I want to show them that it's never too late to continue your education and chase after a dream. I have signed up for a weekly study group and I am ready to begin this journey with my fellow study group members! I'm a little anxious, there's a lot of material to cover and I know it'll be challenging, but Marie assures us we have plenty of time to get it all covered and I have complete trust in the process. Ready to roll!

What a wonderful new chapter in your work journey Sara! And Marie is a fabulous teacher and she will be sure to guide you through the process! I know her class was the reason I passed the CAP. I wish you all the best!

Congratulations. I, too, began pursuit of certification when my youngest entered college. You will enjoy the ride.
