Preparing to Pass the Spring 2026 CAP Certification
I realize that the subject sounds confident but truthfully I woke up twice this week telling myself that I can just wait until the fall to take the exam. But I know if I did that, I wouldn't take it in the fall either. After the moments of self doubt pass I know that if I put my mind to it, I will pass. In October I found out that the person I support is leaving (in January) and at this time there is no indication that they will replace the position. Could mean something, could mean nothing but I would rather control my destiny. Certification is step (along with a few others) in that direction. Cherry on top, I am over 60. Ageism is out there so I'm hoping that certification will strengthen my case as a viable candidate when looking for a new position. If the spring 2026 CAP certification is also your goal, I wish you all of the best and I thank you in advance for your support. We're going to be just fine! Regards, Tony Cabrera

Congratulations for making a great career decision. Taking the CAP can be a game changer in many situations. It's important to invest in yourself. There are many options for study groups for the Spring. You may want to sign up for one as it could be beneficial to helping you prepare. Being a part of a study group gives you access to videos on each Domain from industry experts. There is also a wealth of content their to support the Body of Knowledge you will need to study and links to Quizlet with flashcards for every Domain. I wish you the best as you prepare for your exam. You can do this!

Years ago, when I was contemplating signing up for the exam, I knew once I paid for it there was no going back. I paid, put my head down, studied and passed the exam.

It is a big commitment, and I wish you all the best as you embark on this milestone.
