CAP Goals
I decided to take the CAP based on the good influence of my admin coworker peers! My colleagues impress me every day. I see the other admins around me as fabulous mentors and sources of knowledge, so I knew that if they got a lot out of the CAP experience that I would too if I can put in the same hard work that they did. I have been in an administrative role of some kind for almost 10 years, and am very blessed to have position that is highly varied and fun in an organization with a mission I am proud to be a part of. I am 28 years old (which I think makes me something of a unicorn in Marie Herman's CAP study group, as there are few people in their 20's) and looking not only to build a great career but am also soon to take the next big step in my life with my fiance in our lives. For this reason and because I'm ready to have the confidence to go after what I want in my professional live, the time is right for the CAP certification. “This is not the moment to wilt into the underbrush of your insecurities. You’ve earned the right to grow.”

Congratulations on your engagement and deciding to take the CAP exam. I wish I had known about the IAAP and CAP much earlier in my career - it would have helped greatly in not only moving further along career wise but the resources would have been an invaluable asset. I wish you the best of luck with both your upcoming wedding and exam.

You definitely earned the right to grow. Taking the leap to CAP is great step in your admin career.
