CAP Exam
I am hoping to achieve my certification as an Administrative Professional so that I can gain more in-depth knowledge of my business communications and build my confidence level as an Administrative Assistant. In addition, I'm striving to reach the Executive Assistant level within the university which I work for. I am currently in Marie Herman's study group and am really excited to take on this huge challenge. I have been out of school for about 20+ years and am hoping to set a good example for my 13yo daughter who will be entering HS next year. I want to prove to myself (and my daughter) that regardless of age, anything is possible as long as you put your mind to it. I am excited for this opportunity and the support my boss has given me on this journey.

Woo hoo! Many years ago, when I first sat for the exam, I had a local study buddy - a woman in her 50s. She talked about sitting at the kitchen table with her teenage daughters, all doing their homework together and what a powerful example she felt like in showing that learning is lifelong. I was so proud of her. Smile

Now, I am proud of you for the same reason!!! Go kick that test's butt and show your daughter how it's done!

Congratulations, Tonya for stepping out of your comfort zone and deciding to get your certification!  I, too, was out of school 20+ years before I sat for the certifcation exam. It's quite daunting after being out of school "mode" for so long, but you can do it!  Marie and the study group will be invaluable as you prepare!  Good luck!
