Studying for the CAP Exam Online
I'm not sure if your library offers this but, mine offers online learning through ed2go. I'm browsing their courses and see one titled "Administrative Assistant Applications". This is a 6-week /24 hours course. The description says, "Gain the skills and knowledge you'll need to prepare for the Certified Administrative Professional exam and begin a rewarding career as an administrative assistant. The description continues with, "Also discover key management functions such as planning, control. motivation, and organization, discover how to increase creativity. Plus, find out how marketing differs from sales and learn the basics of operations management. This course may help you prepare for the Internationally-recognized Certified Administrative Professional (CAP) exam offered by the International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP) This seems to be a great opportunity for those that like to learn online. I've taken many courses through my library/ed2go. They have all been free and provide a certificate that I have used (in many cases) for recertification. New sessions of each course open each month, allowing you to enroll whenever your busy schedule permits. I hope this helps anyone looking to obtain their CAP certification.

I took that course at ed2go years ago. It was not free. I don't remember the exact cost - less than $100 I believe. It was pretty good. Maybe it is free at the library - I took it at home. I would recommend it though. I plan on taking other ed2go courses also. If anyone has taken other courses there, please share. I'd love to hear about them. Thanks, Shannon

I can't find ed2go through any of my libraries. I use OverDrive on my phone. Is there a different way to access it?

Here is the link: https://www.ed2go.com/courses/business/administrative/ilc/administrative-assistant-applications

Looks like you have to be associated with a school of some sort.

I also took this course, years ago. Unfortunately, it wasn't that helpful to me. At the time I took it, I had been an admin already for many years, so maybe that's why it wasn't helpful to me. I believe that if you're a seasoned admin, this course will probably be basic to you. Anyway, that's just my 2 cents. And oh, I spent $99 on it.
