Good news finally!

While CAP exam is until Oct 13th, here in Saudi Arabia it's until today only. Testing centers will be closed tom & on Sat. Since last night I was communicating with Assesment Systems team on the options available. They were trying to schedule my exam (the missing 1st part) in Jeddah, 2 hrs from my workplace instead of flying to Riyadh 950kms away. But due to time difference, testing site already closed last night and to be confirmed only today. As back up plan, I checked available flights tomorrow, on any countries with CAP exam near Saudi Arabia. So last night we decided Jeddah is 1st option & Dubai and Turkey next options. Early morning today I asked permission from my Boss, CFO of our company. I have my passport & Turkish visa .Exit-ReEntry Visa also ready (requirement in Saudi Arabia). I am just waiting for assessment systems email if jeddah test is not confirmed then i will rush to the airport. I was busy with some reports almost 12noon when i got an email that my exam in Jeddah, near my place is confirmed at 1:30pm. I will not be able to make it. So i requested 2:30pm schedule which they approved. My Boss (CFO) was so happy coz I was able to save money. He wished me luck before he left for his lunch. I waited for our company driver and travelled to Jeddah.

Yes, of course this is Joel. Same story. I got lost (again Smile hahaha. I had to call the driver and we looked for the test site for about 30mins. I went to US and Europe on a backpack and I always find my hotel and destinations. But here in the country where I have been for so many years I always end up somewhere. Lol.

Ok. Happy ending.
Finally, i have completed my exam & answered the missing questions. The way it was explained to me is maybe human error on the part of the Proctor.

I was so happy and excited ( no need to travel to Turkey). I dont know if I will pass but it doesnt matter for now. In case I fail, then I will try again next year. I am happy because finally I took test. I dont want to have that feeling of regret that I failed because I missed the other set of questions. In case i fail, it means I have to read and study again. And there is one topic that has 5 or more questions related to it. OMG, I came across that topic but did not pay attention to.

Thank you to Assessment Team.
Thank you to IAAP and all the members here. Thank you to all your kind words.

It is almost 8:00pm now in Saudi Arabia, 2 days off starting tom. Now I am ready to sleep with a genuine smile Smile

Joel, you've offered a lesson for us all on remaining poised and polished in the face of a panic attack. Thank you for sharing your story. I admire your resolve to find the location to the point of visiting each floor. This is a good reminder to all of us that we are all human, we make mistakes, things will go wrong. HQ staff is not perfect but they will work with you to resolve issues to the best of their ability. Lets all take a step back in the coming weeks and just be in the moment. Do what you can, do your best. Let go of things that are out of your control. Love my IAAP family!

Joel,

Thank you for sharing your story! Your resolve to pursue certification is amazing, and will make it feel that much better to earn those letters behind your name! We are all here for you.

Once you get those letters, come out and keep it going at CAPstone or IAAP Summit! Hopefully those trips will be much easier!

My movie finally with a happy ending. Smile Got the email.

Funny thing, while i was facing the obstacles I didnt stop, i didnt cry. I sent countless emails and considered so many options, what actions to take.

Got the email. "Congratulations"
Ok, now i am crying.
