Sitting for the CAP-Spring 2019 exam
Why am I sitting for the CAP exam? My name is Stephanie Hablinski and I am from Houston, Texas. I have worked for the same small company for almost 30 years, my boss will be retiring soon and the company will be closing which means I will be looking for a new position. I am terrified and excited all at the same time! After reviewing different positions listed on websites like Glassdoor, Monster and LinkedIn, I realized that most employers want either a college degree or a certified professional. Therefore, after much research, I found the IAAP website and became a member. I reviewed everything they had to offer and decided that it would benefit me greatly in my search for new employment to achieve a CAP designation! I have joined the Marie Herman Spring CAP 2019 study group and have purchased the Study Guide and Smart-book bundle offered by the IAAP. I have also mapped out my study times and started preparing flashcards for each Domain & Performance Outcome. It has been a very long time since I have tested for anything so this is a bit overwhelming. However, I made the decision to commit 100%, do my best and I by some chance I do not pass I will try again. Nothing ventured, nothing gained! I feel like becoming a Certified Administrative Professional will not only give me an edge when interviewing but a much-needed boost in confidence for this new and exciting journey!

What a shame that you did not discover IAAP sooner in your career. I feel that both you and the organization missed out there. Best of luck with the exam and the next job search.
