Why am I taking the CAP test this fall (2020)?
I took this test approximately three years ago and failed it. However, that does not define who I am or reflect the type of employee that I am. I have felt ashamed, mad, sad, envious and all other emotions you could think of. Honestly, I probably would not have even considered retaking the test out of shame, but someone bigger had different plans for me. With the recent pause on life (covid-19), I realized I have lots of extra time on my hands and I better use this time wisely. So here I am again! I will study harder and pray even more! Even though I have 13 years of experience as an admin assistant in a higher education setting, I know this will help me learn new skills which could also lead to new opportunities.

Sometimes we just have to think of those initial tries as a test run. We learn a lot about the exam while preparing and taking it. More than anything though, I think not passing gives you the opportunity to learn a lot about yourself, your character and if you actually are the kind of person you think you are. That experience was just a bump in the road. It doesn't need to become anything more than a speed bump unless you allow it to. Let's get you certified! You can do this!
