Reason for Certification
My name is Mary Beth Orr. I am 60 years old and have worked in office/administrative positions for many years. I have held positions in a one-girl office, wherein I was responsible for all administrative work. Prior to moving to my current location, I had spent my last 15 to 20 years in the legal field, where I held the position of Legal Administrative Secretary. My husband was offered an employment opportunity, which required that we move out of the area we lived all our lives. In moving, I did not go back into the legal field, but instead entered the public sector. We have lived in our current location for 5 years. I have decided to take the CAP Exam because I would like to be able to apply for Executive/Administrative positions in my organization, which requires either a degree or certification. I work with someone who took the exam a year ago for the same reasons. I am hopeful that I can attain a better position with my certification.
