Earning my CAP certification!
I’ve been attending the IAAP conference since 2017 but Veronica Cochran’s keynote in 2018, sparked my interest in earning my CAP certification. I am interested in earning my certification because I want to enhance my critical thinking and leadership skills in my current position as an executive administrative assistant. While I am confident in using the skills I have acquired, I know I can expand my knowledge and skills in order to grow in my career. I hope to continue to expand and enhance these skills by earning my CAP certification. I am nervous about all of the reading and preparation for the exam, but I am a self-motivated, hard worker who loves challenges.

I took the exam and got my CAP Certification in 2017. The course was rigorous, and since I hadn't taken an exam of any type in many, many, MANY years prior to that, I was extremely nervous when I sat down to take the exam. But I had enrolled in Marie Herman's CAP Study Group, and felt pretty confident by the time I sat for the exam. It is a lot of reading and studying, but her course is very comprehensive and I passed on my first attempt, which was a relief, to say the least! Best of luck to you in your journey! You got this!

I think that desire to challenge ourselves is one of the things that keeps life most interesting. When we stop desiring that, we tend to stagnate and before we know it, we've been left behind. I love seeing you be proactive and thinking about where you want to go in the future and what's it's going to take to get there.
