CAP decision-My story
I decided to sign up for the CAP exam after 25 years of getting my Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and I feel excited!! After several months thinking about it, I joined, two weeks ago, Marie Herman's study group to prepare for the exam in the Fall. Marie has so much experience doing this and her voice is very enjoyable to listen to. She encourages you to keep going and to gives you lots of tips and techniques on speed readings, how to study and reduce anxiety. I waited so long to start this process because after I graduated from college in Venezuela I got married and moved to Florida, learn the language, had my two daughters, moved back to Venezuela for work and then moved back to the US after 2 1/2 years, signed my daughters up for elementary school and found a job in the same middle school they attended. They are in college and high school now so I am still working in this private school in one of the administrative offices. I was promoted to a better position after 2 years working there. I feel I could have decided about the CAP exam years ago but now is the right moment to do it. I am doing it to educate myself about all new tendencies in the field and to hopefully get recognition of some sort and advance in my career even though Covid-19 hit us hard. I have learned so much in only one week! It is overwhelming for worth it 100%. Just get organized with the readings and have a study schedule every day if possible. Keep going and don't give up, just DO IT. I have not taken the exam but I know I will pass it and get certified (always positive thinking). I believe we are all capable of doing great things for ourselves and for others if we put the effort on it! Hope this will help and encourage somebody to make that decision and advance in their careers.
