2021 CAP Exam
Hello everyone, my name is Somatie, I just signed up to take the Spring 2021 IAAP CAP exam. I am very excited to be starting this year on a positive note. Last year when the pandemic hit I found myself working from home with more time on my hands in the evening hour. I no longer spent an hour commuting home, I took up reading again as a past time, I was going through a book every two weeks. Sixteen books later, and the fact that I started feeling a bit stagnant in my career led me to research ways to spend my free time in a more productive way. I decided what better way to spend my time than to do something that will boost me in my professional field. This is a personal goal that I have set for myself, one in which I am committed to. I am so happy that I decided to join Marie's study group. It is encouraging and motivating to work with others who have set out to achieve the same goal as me. I wish all my peers the best of luck as we embark on this journey together.

Hi Somatie, welcome! Best wishes on your CAP certification journey. I had participated in Marie"s study group a few years ago and it was a great experience. I learned alot, gave me confidence and passed the exam.

Somatie, congrats on rediscovering your pastime of reading and working towards earning your CAP. You can't go wrong with Marie. I was part of her study group and passed my CAP exam first try in Fall 2019. Marie is also right - the learning thing becomes addictive so watch out! The next best part, as Jennifer said is the networking and connections. You are among a team of inspiring, supportive and productive admins who share the same passion for learning and growing our profession. Stay focused and you will do great!

Good for you Somatie! You and I were on similar paths in that I also wanted to ensure my time is spent productively. Marie has some wonderful classes and is a great instructor. I'm sure you will do well under her tutelage, and once certified, you're well on your way in the process of lifelong learning! Congrats to you!
