Spring 2021 CAP Exam - My Why
Last spring I made the difficult, but ultimately rewarding, decision to leave my previous position. I learned about the CAP exam over the summer while exploring "what I wanted to do next". I now have a new position and a renewed enthusiasm for my role as an administrative professional. Although I have spent 25+ years in this field, I know there is still so much more to learn and skills to refine. I am privileged to have an employer who empowers our staff to become better versions of themselves, and I know that now is my time to go after this certification. In addition to the learning and personal sense of accomplishment, my goal is to use this knowledge to elevate the administrative staff in my organization. Knowledge IS power and I hope to energize others will the knowledge that they can instead of the fear that they can't. To all of those who are studying - believe in your why and go get it!

What tremendous insight, courage, determination, and motivation you have for looking at a difficult situation and taking action. It is so nice you found a more supportive and empowering employer. It is so powerful to know there are alternatives and choices out there and that they do work out for the better. Thank you!

Thanks for sharing and best of luck to you! I took sat for the exam and hoped to elevate the administrative staff in my organization. My certification has done just that in my opinion and many others have now joined IAAP and are contemplating sitting for the exam.
