CAP Certification
I became aware of the certification when I saw "CAP" after a signature name and researched its meaning. I immediately thought "I need to do this!" I have always tried to seek ways for professional development, beginning with my first career training and employment (Registered Health Information Technology, previously Accredited Record Technician). After working in the medical outpatient/office setting for 20 years, I changed careers from a medical office manager to an office manager at an HVAC company. From there, I transitioned as an administrative professional at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), where I love my job! Since coming to ORNL, I have seen hit and miss where admins have sought to advance on learning new technologies and applications and are not concerned with certification, I hope to change this within the organization (to first accomplish this myself!). Last year I obtained my PACE certification and since then, have been studying for the CAP Exam. I took a Practice Exam and did not pass, so I thought joining a study group would help me! I am looking forward to learning, studying, and doing life with others that have the same goal!
