CAP Exam 2021 or 2022
Hello everyone, I've just joined today, and trying to gather as much information as possible so I could decide if I'd sit for the CAP exam either Fall 2021 or Spring 2022. I've been working in administrative positions for the past 8 years(+/-), within different departments (project services, facilities management, document control, and many others). I'd like to be fully prepared, and honestly not sure where to find online study material - I've seen there are books available, and a practice test, but I live in Qatar so I prefer my study materials to be online. So my first question would be, any recommendations on study material? Secondly, advise on exam date? I know I'd be more comfortable with Spring 2022, since I'm also a single mom and work full-time, I'd prefer having the time to really dig into the materials. Thank you all in advance!

Hi Petra! I recommend you start with a practice test so you can establish your level of readiness. For test prep, I used study.com, and lots of people here also recommend Marie Herman's study group. Best of luck to you!

Hi Petra - Welcome to IAAP. My recommendation is do the certification exam in Spring 2022. It will give you time to become oriented.

I second Linda's recommendation for taking the certification exam in the Spring 2022.  Good luck on the CAP journey.  It is well worth it.

I would wait until Spring 2022. Also, check the website. I believe there is a virtual book available for study.

Petra, if your preferred method of study is online, you might consider an online course such as the one offered by Marie Herman, MRH Enterprises LLC (www.mrhenterprises.com). Marie is a member, holds certification, and is a very good instructor.

I agree, C. I studied with Marie beginning in January and sat for Spring Exam and passed. Marie can guide you on the time commitment needed. Good luck and much success on your career.
