Fear of failing and believing in myself
For years I have wanted to be CAP certified, but have always put it off because I live in fear of failing. Life the last couple of years has been extremely difficult with my husband's health, so all of my needs and dreams have been pushed aside as I've cared for him. He was finally stabilizing and doing well with home hemodialysis, so I thought, well maybe this is the time. With his encouragement I signed up to take Marie Herman's CAP study group at mrhenterprises.com. I've followed Marie for a long time and have taken some of her other studies and was always envy of the opportunity to earn the CAP certification. It was a long hard 6 months between studying, working full time, and being a dialysis tech and caregiver to my husband, but I finally conquered the fear and passed the exam! I am happy to say that I am officially Shelly Pfaff, CAP. I really like the sound of that. It has been a dream for a long time. The journey has been a challenge, but with the encouragement I received from my husband, family, friends, and Marie throughout the study group I was able to do it. I had to have the faith in myself that everyone else did. If you have thought about taking the exam, but keep putting it off for whatever reason, I highly encourage you to sign up for the next study group that Marie Herman hosts, sign up for the exam, and go in confidently knowing you can do it! Believe in yourself like others believe in you. I believe in you and have faith you can do what you set your mind to.

Congratulations on succeeding with the challenges you overcame! Thank you for your encouragement to others, like me who have put this off due to fear of failure. I'm ready to begin my studies and have committed to 6 months to studying.
