I'm excited to say that I have started my CAP certification process. I joined a study group and plan to take the Fall 2024 test. I have been an Administrative/Executive Assistant for nearly 20 years. I began my career as the Executive Assistant to the Superintendent and Board of Trustees at a school district in Wyoming for 14 years, then transitioned to the C-Suite Executive Assistant at a Hospital where I assisted the CEO, COO, CNO, CFO, CMO and Board of Trustees for 5 years. Most recently I moved to TN and took a job as the Admin Assist at an Extension Office. I am fortunate to work for an organization that supports and encourages the CAP certification! With their support and encouragement (plus the added bonus of a raise upon completion) I figured NOW is the time! I'm excited for this opportunity and look forward to connecting with others!

Congratulations on taking the first step toward certification! Both Marie Herman and Brenda VanMeter host study groups that are starting up and are great resources for you on this journey. It's never too late - I joined IAAP in 2001 as a "baby" admin and didn't take my CAP until 2019. There's always time and it's never too late to begin. Always here to cheer you on!
