I have been working in Administrative positions for over thirty years. When I first started working for my current employer seven years ago, I heard about taking the CAP exam and the potential to get a raise if I passed it. At the time, I said no way would I take it. This is mostly because I have always had test anxiety. However, a few years ago I had a couple of co-workers who took the CAP and they really encouraged me to rethink taking this exam. I finally decided that this year I would do it. To be honest, I will enjoy the raise that I will get when I pass this exam but more importantly I would love to prove to myself that I can do this. I am putting in all the time and effort to make this dream a reality. My goal is to pass this exam and with the renewed confidence in myself, and to be able to step out of my comfort zone more often at work. This will hopefully show my supervisor that I can take on new challenges there as well. LaCresha Longwell

I understand the test anxiety thing, I still have it. It was so bad when I went back to college (in my 40s), I dreaded taking a class test from an instructor I'd already had and was familiar with his tests. You will do fine, it's a state of mind.
