CAP Exam for 2025
Hello, I am taking the CAP Exam in spring 2025. I am using the 5th edition study guide to help me prepare, along with taking an online course with Marie Herman. I have a goal of reading or re-reading every day to keep the content working and stirring in my mind so that I don’t forget the concepts. I am a disciplined person, so this isn’t difficult, but I have learned that my memory and study techniques might need some improvement because I have been out of school for a few years. I am taking this exam because my employer has made it an option, and I am trying to get myself in a state of mind to go back to school. I think this test will help me overcome my fears of earning my bachelors degree, and remind me that I can do anything I set my mind to!

You got this Laura! After 20 years as a Paralegal, I changed careers. For almost ten years since then, I have had three administrative assistant-type positions, having moved up within my organization. I have decided to obtain my certification for my own sense of personal and professional accomplishment and to show those within my organization whom I deal with on an almost day-to-day basis (who have advanced degrees and I do not) that there is an array of complex skills and knowledge inherently necessary to be able to do what I do.

I am in your study group with Marie Herman as well! Like you, I am trying to study a bit each day so it's not so overwhelming to do all at once. Congratulations on taking this next step in your career! We got this!
