Taking the CAP Exam Fall 2025
Hi there! I am taking the CAP Exam this Fall. I'm so excited but so very nervous. I have been working in the administrative professional world for the last 24 years but am constantly frowned upon because I didn't finish and receive an associate's degree. My pride is my first job of being a wife and mom to two amazing teenage daughters. It's just not feasible for me to go back to college right now with life and work. I'm praying taking and passing the CAP exam will provide me some leverage in my career and provide me opportunities for growth and development. I'm preparing by taking Marie's study group. I welcome all the good vibes and prayers I can get. This mama is finding it hard to focus a little. Any helpful tips or advice is always welcome too. All the best to all you hard working APs!

Hi - I took the test when I was around 35ish years in the profession. I didn't study too much, took a study course, which was very helpful to remind me how to take such a test and passed with an 88%. You know more than you think you do. Good luck!

Hi Christina - I relate so much to this post!  I, too, have been working in the administrative field for over 20 years.  I work in higher education fundraising, and I think I was often looked down upon a bit because I do not have a degree.  I also decided to pursue my CAP certification for the exact same reason as you and I can say that obtaining my CAP has been transformational to my career!  You have totally got this and I am cheering you on from afar.  (Also - I sent you a message here in your inbox.) 😊
