Our next cycle for compensation adjustments since I completed the CAP designation last year is next month. It hasn't been specifically promised that I will get a higher percentage increase because of my achievement, but I have reason to believe I will. Interested to see if it happens. I hope your case is successful, Ruth.

Good Luck R. Hurd!! Would like to know how this turns out.

I did not receive a compensation increase when I achieved my CAP; however, I want to highlight that my direct supervisor did allow for my exam expenses to be covered by the employer. (At the time I earned my credentials, both CAP and the OM specialty were exam based. The company paid for both exams.)

Since that time, I was with another employer that recognized professional achievements such as this, but CAP was not included on the list of recognized achievements.

With my current employer, I am currently working on a proposal that includes language on compensating employees for maintaining professional credentials (including CAP!); fingers crossed...

Reach out to some of the Tennessee CAPs that work for the state. They get an automatic 9% pay increase.
