This is fantastic news regarding the certification program. Thank you to everyone who worked on it. To the best of my knowledge there is nothing in New York State--not even for state employees (like Tennessee). Would be great if the program could be recognized in more states and companies, etc. What was involved in getting the program recognized in Indiana? - Linda L. Rolfe, CAP-OM, New York/New Jersey Branch, LAN Director, Capital District, Albany Area (New York)

I wonder if this could apply in Canada somehow. I find that our designation is not recognized as it should be and this would be a great way to make the Value rise and perhaps generate more interest for others to become certified!

Great news, this is why we are members of IAAP and are certified! Cannot wait to see what the future has in store for all of us. Exciting times!

Would definitely like to see IAAP work to have this same level of recognition happen in each state in the US and each of the provinces in Canada as well. Of course I certainly realize IAAP can't "force" the states to enact a state law. (OMG...please...lol!) But you don't get what you don't ask for. I feel this is not only important to our organization, but to the industry itself. It is worthy of members calling up their elected representatives on the state level and saying "Indiana did this...we need it too....here's why". IAAP could supply talking points so it was an organized message. Sure, it will take effort - you're dealing with government!! But this is very, very important not only for the recognition of how important the CAP certification is, but also for reinforcing how important IAAP is, and also the importance of the Administrative Professional role itself! I say: GO BIG OR GO HOME!

That is fantastic! Is this something we can model after in other States? Would be wonderful to have this certification for all 50 states. I would love to lead the process here in California.
